By REV. JOHN HATCHER

Last Saturday night my family went to my home town of Colquitt, Georgia (not to be confused with Colquitt County) to see the town's Swamp Gravy production of "The Land Between Two Rivers." This year The Colquitt/Miller Arts Council celebrates ten years of Swamp Gravy that is basically a collection of local stories woven together with a poignant theme. Previous productions included themes dealing with Swamp Medicine, The Ten Commandments, and Love and Marriage.

New believers who join the Church as adults face unique challenges
By DEBBIE DUNCAN

Instead of growing up in the faith I became a Christian as an adult. There is so much that is confusing to a new Christian joining a church, that I wanted to share the experiences I have had there, in hopes it will make the path smoother for other adults who come to accept Jesus late in life.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

A message to the ones who took Mac's bench

The last Wednesday before Thanksgiving was a typical day for most of the members of the Peachtree City Church of Christ. The work day had ended, and a quick meal had been prepared and enjoyed by most of their number, and they were now on the way to the Wednesday night worship service. This seemed to be just a normal Wednesday evening, that is, until they reached the building.

Brown created current PTC climate of political sniping

I just finished reading Mayor Steve Brown's State of the City address posted on the city website. 5 weeks off within 2 months is overdoing it

Mormon doctrine unlike familiar Christian beliefs

Your recent article in The Citizen ["Olympic spotlight illuminates Mormon faith," March 6] invites some comment and correction.

Latter-day Saints not forthright about beliefs

I'm intrigued by the front that the Mormon Church presents to those who are not members. They are hoping that because they were such good hosts in Salt Lake City that we will welcome the missionaries into our homes the next time they show up on our doorsteps.

Mormon insider has disturbing view of real beliefs

This was a very one-sided article. I have been a member of the Mormon church all my life, and over the course of many years some of its teachings caused me to question it. But as a religion that encourages its members to exercise blind faith in their leaders, my questions were answered with a quote from one of the apostles, "When the prophet has spoken, the thinking has been done."

Readers from all over e-mail thanks for story

Story presented facts, not opinions

Some corrections about doctrines ...

Thank you for the article "Olympic spotlight illuminates Mormon faith" in the March 6 edition of The Citizen. I found it most interesting and have never until today read anything in your "paper" be it electronic or otherwise. I only found one item which was not entirely accurate.

A little matter of spelling, usage ...

Thank you for the accurate and unbiased report. The correct name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (beginning with a capital "T" and special note to the "Latter-day" portion).
