"... Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord. ..." (Romans 14:9).

Easter Sunday is 18 days away but the Atlanta Civic Center is getting into the spirit by presenting the Atlanta Passion Play weekends through March 24, allowing audiences to witness the life and times of Jesus Christ.

The "Atlanta Passion Play" chronicles Jesus' life; his choosing of disciples, the miracles he performed, his Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension. The show features a live orchestra, authentic biblical costumes and a full chorus. The cast features close to 250 actors and more than 750 people are involved in the annual production.

The play is a crowd pleaser. Each year more than 43,000 people from all over the United States attend, many of them returning year after year. Audiences thrill over the attention to detail, the special effects and, of course, the story.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m Sundays. Ticket prices range from $8-$18. Phone 770-234-8400.
