Wednesday, March 13, 2002 New faces in local real estate Val Brown has joined Re/max Around Atlanta All-Stars in Fayetteville as a licensed assistant to James A. Brown. She will focus on the south metro Atlanta area. Her memberships include include the Fayette County Board of Realtors and Delta Premier Toastmasters. Prior to becoming a licensed real estate professional, she worked 29 years for Delta Air Lines, including 19 years in computer technology. She is the wife of James A. Brown and the mother of two teenage boys. She is an elder at New Life Presbyterian Church and a member of the choir. Mary Ann Grant is a new sales associate with the Griffin/Spalding County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty. A Lamar County resident, she is a graduate of the Barney Fletcher Real Estate School. She is married to Donald Grant, and they have two children, Hayley, 10, and Isaiah, 14. She is a member of Gospel Tabernacle South. Lee Johnson has joined Century 21 Southern Crescent as a sales associate. She will specialize in residential sales in Fayette, Coweta, Clayton and Henry counties. Johnson comes to the firm after a 35-year career in several customer service positions with Delta Air Lines, working in Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco. She and her husband Richard live in Fayetteville. Both enjoy traveling and can often be found on their Honda Gold Wing when the weather is nice. Brenda McKneely is a new sales associate with the Griffin/Spalding County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty. McKneely, who has been in real estate for nearly two years, has completed GRI Course I, and she has attended a tax seminar and an ethics seminar presented by the Heart of Georgia Association of Realtors, of which she is a member. Prior to entering real estate, she had 15 years of business experience. A lifelong resident of Griffin, she is married to Gene McKneely. Their family includes son Jason, daughter-in-law Laurie, and grandson Alex, who is three and one-half years old. Shonda Sims is a new sales associate with the Clayton County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty. A resident of Stockbridge, she has been in real estate for two years. She has been married to Art Sims for 10 years, and they have three children, Brandon, Brianna and Brian. She is a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia. Joann Starley has joined Re/Max Around Atlanta All-Stars in Fayetteville. She has been in the real estate industry for the past four years, and prior to that she was an office manager for a thoracic surgeon. She specializes in first- and second-time home buyers, serving Fayette, Coweta, Meriwether, south Fulton, Clayton and Henry counties. She is a member of the Fayette County Board of Realtors and Million Dollar Club for 1999 and 2001. She is currently working toward her GRI. Starley loves to laugh and be around her friends, and also enjoys making new friends. Fishing is one of her hobbies as well as collecting antiques. To relax, she takes naps with her "fat cat."
