Wednesday, March 13, 2002 Metro Brokers/GMAC hires 1,000th agent Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate recently hired its 1000th agent a company record. The company's 1,000th agent is Jean Jun, formerly an agent with Jenny Pruitt and Associates and a licensed Realtor since 1988. She is a lifetime member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors' Million Dollar Club and holds numerous real estate certifications. She will be working out of Metro Brokers' Peachtree Corners office and specialize in assisting first-time home buyers and transferees to Atlanta. "I chose Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate for its reputation and name recognition," Jun said. "I also like the company's emphasis on full-service brokerage. The combination of real estate, mortgage and insurance services makes the home-buying process convenient for my clients and my job easier - all at the same time." Prior to becoming a real estate associate, Jun was as a registered nurse for 20 years in the southeast Georgia town of Eastman. While working as a nurse, she helped make the moving process easier for physicians and their families by providing them with information about local communities and schools. She enjoyed acclimating families to Eastman so much that she chose real estate as a career when she moved to Atlanta in 1987. Jun was recruited by longtime Metro Brokers associate Bobbie Pardue of the East Cobb office. Pardue has been an associate with Metro Brokers for 15 years and was also responsible for the recruitment of her husband, Ken Cain, of the Stone Mountain office. "A big reason why we're so successful at recruiting associates and keeping them is because of the referrals from our own people," said Kevin Levent, President and CEO of Metro Brokers. "It's always been that way at Metro Brokers." Levent awarded Jun a $1,000 check for being the 1,000th associate at the company's quarterly sales rally. Pardue was also presented with a $1,000 check for recruiting Jun. Levent said the company has hired nearly 400 associates in 12 months to reach the 1,000 mark, making Metro Brokers the largest "regional" real estate company in metro Atlanta and one of the top 30 largest brokerages in the country. Levent credited a re-energized career development department, led by Joe Dabbs, for the company's recent growth. Dabbs, who joined the company in June of 2000, has been instrumental in implementing new recruiting programs. He founded the Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate Academy last year and more than 200 graduates have joined the company since then. Metro Brokers is a full-service real estate company with 19 offices in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The company also provides financial, insurance, and corporate relocation services, as well as commercial real estate brokerage and corporate new homes marketing. The company sold more than $1.8 billion in real estate in 2001 on 11,000 transaction sides.
