In January of 1979, Thomas
Webb taught health and physical education at Fayette County High School.
In the fall, he was teaching the same subjects at Fayette County Junior
High School and had his first football coaching job. He will return
to the sidelines for Fayette County High School this fall as the Tigers
new head football coach.

Mill hosted a power lifting meet on Saturday with Spalding County,
Sandy Creek and McIntosh competing along with Starr's Mill. Sandy
Creek and Starr's Mill finished with the same amount of points, 126,
but Sandy Creek had more individual winners and therefore won the
meet.

school baseball season underway
The high school baseball
season is still young. In fact, several teams have had rain either
cut short or postpone a game altogether. Each local team has seen
some encouraging things though, promising an entertaining season.
