Wednesday, March 12, 2003 Brown comes 'home' to Home Power With over 11 years of experience in real estate, Marvin "J" Brown has joined Home Power Realty, Inc. as vice president of new home sales. "Coming on board with Home Power is kind of like coming home," he said. "Several years ago I was trained for new home sales by Cookie Roberts, who is the broker of Home Power Realty. Later she trained me as a district sales manager. A lot of my success is attributed to her mentoring me. It was a fairly easy decision to join her company." Fayetteville-based Home Power Realty had been searching for just the right person for the VP position for nearly a year. "Marvin has the inter-personal skills and industry success we look for in staffing our management position," said Roberts. "Every time I thought of the VP of New Homes Sales position I always thought, 'I want someone like Marvin,' so instead of hiring someone 'like' Marvin, we just waited until he was available." Home Power Realty is currently marketing twelve new home communities with an additional seven scheduled to start over the next few months. With managing a large number of communities and the task of getting to know an entire new sales staff, Marvin responds to the challenge with his signature phrase, "It's all good ... and getting better." Marvin is quick to add, "I love a good challenge. I am the youngest of ten children and growing up I faced real world challenges every day." Dawn Stowers, a top-producing agent with Home Power is one agent who knows first hand what a valuable asset Marvin will be to the company. "I knew Marvin when we were at another company a few years ago. When I heard he was joining Home Power Realty I was really excited. Marvin is the kind of manager that understands what the agents go through every day because he was an on-site agent. It is great to have him with us and the agents who don't know him yet are going to love him." When asked why Marvin would leave one of Metro Atlanta's top builders after six years to go with Home Power Realty, he responded, "First and foremost was the chance to work with people like Cookie and Mike Roberts/President of Home Power Realty. I have known them for many years and you don't get to meet people like them every day. They are good, quality folks who have a proven track record for success and integrity. Secondly there is a lot going on at Home Power. The company has done over $170,000,000 in sales in the last three years."
