Wednesday, March 12, 2003 Scholarship applications being taken The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia is currently taking applications for its annual scholarship program. The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from the Fayette, Spalding and Coweta County school systems who are entering a college in the state of Georgia. Employees of businesses related to the building industry and/or students interested in field of study related to the industry will get preference for scholarships. For applications and to learn the criteria for qualification, students can either contact the guidance office at their high school or Sandy Boda, Executive Officer for the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia, at 770-716-7109. All applications should be received in the Home Builder office by March 31. Final selection is by the association's scholarship committee. Since the scholarship program began 21 years ago, the association has awarded 147 scholarships totaling $209,500. This year's scholarship recipients will be recognized at the association's meeting June 19 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City.
