Falzone named Minter TOTY

The PTO at Sara Harp Minter Elementary School honored teachers with a Valentine's Day Teachers Appreciation Luncheon complete with door prizes, food, desserts, and heart-shaped balloons. Parents Expressing Thanks provided the desert table and the Hospitality Committee and PTO volunteers provided the luncheon. Door prizes were donated by Andy's Nursery, Kearns Insurance Agency, Southport Commercial Real Estate Services, Dorrie Marsh-Harry Norman Realtor, and Audrey Massey-Realtor.

Sara Harp Minter Elementary's PTO president, Meloni Thompson, presented Minter teacher of the year Cathy Falzone with a bouquet of roses which included gift certificates to area merchants. Falzone is a national board certified teacher with an undergraduate degree in early childhood dducation from Mercer University and a graduate degree in administration and leadership from The University of Georgia.

She teaches fourth grade and states that she feels very honored to be Sara Harp Minter Elementary's Teacher of the Year during its charter year. She has taught 7 years within the Fayette County School System and loves the quality of the teaching staff, administrative personnel, the parent community, and most of all the students who come to school ready to learn.

Falzone resides in Fayetteville and is married to Vince Falzone. Their son Christopher attends Mercer University's School of Engineering.
