Fayette communities get personalized Web sites

A new partnership agreement between Re/Max Around Atlanta, one of the area's leading real estate brokers, and Connecting Neighbors, an innovative creator of Internet venues, will bring individual neighborhood Web sites to area residents to help them connect with one another.

The Web sites, easily accessible to anyone living in a designated area, offer detailed, up-to-date community information everything from babysitter and handyman referrals to homeowner's meetings and neighborhood clubs geared specifically for that particular neighborhood.

The highly acclaimed Connecting Neighbors concept, a high-tech version of the old-fashioned, over-the-fence chat, will soon be available to people living in the following neighborhoods:

www.bonaventureestates.com.

www.thechimneynews.com.

A local Re/Max Around Atlanta real estate professional familiar with the neighborhood will sponsor each Web site. The sites will begin launching in March. The Re/Max Around Atlanta sponsoring agent will notify residents via several methods, such as postcards, fliers, etc. how to access their personalized community site once the sites are up and running.

"We are so excited to provide Peachtree City and Fayetteville neighborhoods with such a valuable and creative service," says Barbara Pearson, broker/owner of Re/Max Around Atlanta. "The sites are easy to use, lots of fun and extremely beneficial to neighborhood residents."

The Connecting Neighbors neighborhood Web site will:

Give users free, immediate access to community events and information.

Allow residents access to their neighborhood site directly, rather than connecting through a central site.

Screen all material for content and language before it appears on the screen. It is not a glorified bulletin board that allows anyone with a password to log in and indiscriminately post material.

Allow neighbors to place free classified ads and other postings, provide tips and resources from major retailers and specialists, write a history of their neighborhood, research their local schools and post a variety of community events.

"Too often, families settle into new homes without knowing anything about the area in which they live," observed Jay Otlewski, president and CEO of Real Estate on the Web, Connecting Neighbors' parent company. "This is a way for real estate professionals to give something back to the communities they serve a perfect way for residents to keep in touch with what's happening in their own backyards."
