Bobby Ralph Holtzclaw Sr.Bobby Ralph Holtzclaw Sr., 67, Fayetteville, died March 19, 2006. He was born May 26, 1938 in Fulton County. He had served in the United States Army. He had worked for 10 years as a maintenance supervisor for Fayette County, and loved to fish and hunt. William A. “Bill” LeeWilliam A. “Bill” Lee, 75, Fayetteville, formerly of Ellijay, died March 18, 2006. He was born Jan. 23, 1931 in Astoria, N. Y. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mildred K. HarrisMildred K. Harris, 84, Ladner, British Colombia, Canada, formerly of Peachtree City, died March 16, 2006. She was born Aug. 8, 1921 in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harris. While living in Peachtree City for nine years, she was very active in the city’s politics and in the 1990’s formed the “Concerned Citizens” group, which opposed the increased densities advanced by developers and the city council. After returning to Ladner, she learned of her induction into the Hall of Fame at the St. Georges Golf Club in Toronto, at which she was Club Champion five times, and had served as its first woman director. Roland RossignolRoland Rossignol, 80, Fayetteville, died March 12, 2006. He was born May 22, 1925 in Van Buren, Aroostock County, Maine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Emily Beaulieu Rossignol, and two brothers. He was a veteran of the United States Army. George E. Stubbs Jr.George E. Stubbs Jr., 67, Screven, formerly of Newnan, died March 19, 2006. He was born Dec. 2, 1938 in Newnan, moving to Screven 10 years go. He was preceded in death by his father, George Edward Stubbs Sr., and parents, George A. and Elsie Stubbs Kempson. He had served in the United States Army, 1st Calvary, in Korea. He was a retired Construction worker and a member of the N. R. A. David B. Buelterman Sr.David B. Buelterman Sr., 52, Newnan, died March 19, 2006. He was born March 16, 1954 in Fulton County. Services were at the Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church with the Rev. Father David Epps officiating. Frances Mann GrindleFrances Mann Grindle, 71, Woolsey, died March 17, 2006. She was born Dec. 9, 1934 in Fayette County, daughter of Oliver Steve and Dollie Catherine Chapman Mann. She was preceded in death by brothers, James Mann, Butch Mann, Tom Mann, and Steve Mann Jr. Donald Gene Kincaid Sr.Donald Gene Kincaid Sr., 68, Fayetteville, died March 15, 2006. He was born April 8, 1937 in Ingram Branch, W. Va. He was retired from Eastern Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Charles Parker IIICharles Parker III, Fayetteville, 86, formerly of Miami Springs, Fla., died March 14, 2006. He was born June 10, 1919 in Delaware County, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Charlotte Kennedy Parker. He was retired from Eastern Airlines with 38 years of service. W. G. “Bill” TaylorW. John H. “Johnny” PolzinJohn H. “Johnny” Polzin, 89, Peachtree City, died March 11, 2006. He was born Sept. 12, 1916 in St. Louis, Mo. He was a retired orchestra leader and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Lynn R. HayesLynn R. Hayes, 60, Fayetteville, formerly of Blakely, Ga., died March 10, 2006. She was born Sept. 7, 1945 in Blakely, Early County, Ga. Robert S. “Bob” EllingtonRobert S. “Bob” Ellington, 80, Fayetteville, formerly of Hapeville, died March 11, 2006. He was born May 15, 1925 in Oxford, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Starkey and Octavia Moon Ellington. He served in the United States Army and was retired from Cities Service Oil Company. Eva Ruth SmithEva Ruth Smith, 74, Newnan, formerly of Fayetteville, died March 10, 2006. She was born Jan. 19, 1932 in Atlanta, DeKalb County, Ga. She was retired from Delta Airlines as an executive secretary. She had also worked for the Fulton County Board of Education. She was a member of Fairburn First Baptist Church. Clyde William PhillipsClyde William Phillips, 81, Riverdale, died March 10, 2006. He was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Fulton County. He served in World War II in the European Theatre and also in the Korean Conflict. He was retired fro the United States Army having served 27 years in the 101st Airborne Division. He was also worked as a mechanic for the City of Atlanta Fire Department was a union organizer for the Carpenters Union Local 225. Doris Ruff EllisonDoris Ruff Ellison, 84, Fayetteville, died March 9, 2006. She was born Oct. 17, 1921 in Fulton County. She was a member of West End Business & Professional Women’s Club. She was a member of Park St. Methodist Church and the Lillian Griffith Circle at the church. Walter Alford “Al” VickersWalter Alford “Al” Vickers, 58, Fairburn, died March 8, 2006. He was born Dec. 16, 1947 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cary J. and Annie Bell Vickers. Richard E. HollandRichard E. Holland, 69, Griffin, died March 8, 2006. He was born May 19, 1936 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to the late William and Lenna Holland. He was also preceded in death by brothers, William and Robert, a son, Bradford, and his first wife of 44 years, Dolores Holland. He worked for the Union Pacific, the Burlington Northern Railroad and also owned the Carpet Comfort Center in Wyoming. He served as minister of Valley Christian church in Nebraska in the 1960’s and was a Sunday School teacher at Fayetteville Christian Church. Mary E. CrowderMary E. Crowder, 89, Camilla, Ga., died March 7, 2006. She was born July 16, 1916 in Rancocas, N. J, daughter of the late Michael Miragliuolo, and Angelina Maniere. She was preceded in death by husbands, Harry C. Knight, Avery “Bill” Crowder, and Roland Richards. Louis Patrick “Pat” Kane Jr.Louis Patrick “Pat” Kane Jr., 62, Fayetteville, died March 7, 2006. He was born Aug. 28, 1943 in Fulton County. He was graduated from Georgia Military Academy, Milledgeville, and served in the United States Air Force. He was an Air Traffic Controller early in his career. He loved to pilot his own plane and at one time owned his own charter service. He was a customer service representative for Air Tran Airlines for the last 5 years. Joyce EleyJoyce Eley, 72, Fayetteville, died March 7, 2006. She was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Randolph County, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Harvey Eley. She was retired from Keebler Cookie Co., with 30 years of service. James R. “Jim” PullenJames R. “Jim” Pullen, 84, Fayetteville, died March 5, 2006. He was born Dec. 8, 1921 in Meriwether County, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Summerlin Pullen. He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of College Park First United Methodist Church. Ray “Judge” CarmichaelRay “Judge” Carmichael, 81, Turin, died March 3, 2005. He was born Feb. 27,1925 in Turin, son of Arthur and Effie Jane Carmichael. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army in the European Theatre. In Germany, he received a Bronze Star. After the war, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the battleship USS Boxer, which operated in the Western Pacific, visiting Japan, Okinawa, the Philippines and China. He later worked for the United States Postal Service, General Motors and the Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Turin United Methodist Church. Evelyn Annie Lee BowenEvelyn Annie Lee Bowen, 87, Newnan, died M arch 2, 2006. She was born Sept. 17, 1918 in Fayette County, daughter of Oliver Marion and Annie Lula Callaway Pye. Tera Lee WrightTera Lee Wright, 80, Peachtree City, died March 2, 2006. She was born Sept. 17, 1925. She was graduated from Jordan High School, Class of 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Eula Mae Barker Lee, her husband, George Bruce Wright, and sisters, Vera Lee, Agnes McGraw, and Helen Ryon. She was a life-long resident of Columbus and Phenix City, and a faithful member for more than 65 years of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, and was decorated by the Brazilian Air Force. He was retired from Pan Am Airlines with 20 years of service.
