Paul E. Buyers Jr., 84, Peachtree City, died Feb. 28, 2006. He was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was a veteran of World War II, and was decorated by the Brazilian Air Force. He was retired from Pan Am Airlines with 20 years of service.

Memorial services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Stephen Soulen officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Buyers, Peachtree City; a son, Paul Eugene “Gene” Buyers III, Hollywood, Fla.; daughters, Martha “Martie” and Bob Johnson, Peachtree City, and Rebecca “Becky” and Kirk Lucas, West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, John W. and Belinha Buyers, Utinga, Brazil; a sister, Grace and Wilbur Smith, Asheville, N. C.; grandchildren, Jody Johansen, Beth Gleason, Karina Perez, Shelly Lucas, Jenny Lucas, Sara Buyers, Melva Buyers, and Mark Lucas; and Mark Lucas; and great-grandchildren, Loran Johansen, and Emma Gleason.

Memorial donations may be made to Asbury College Scholarship Fund, One Macklem Dr., Wilmore, KY 40390.

Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
