Lowell Wesley McEachern, 70, Brooks, died May 10, 2006. He was born June 12, 1935 in Fayette County, son of Lowell Veuron and Emily Velma Williams McEachern. He was a member of Lisbon Baptist Church and the Davidson Masonic Lodge F&AM #334. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Edward Lynch and the Rev. Carlton Swicegood officiating. Jerry Schaufelberger, 78, Jonesboro, died May 9, 2006. He was born Oct. 12, 1917 in Lancaster County, Neb. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Dorothy Haines Cavan

Dorothy “Dot” Haines Cavan, 89, Thomaston, died May 8, 2006. She was born March 21, 1917 in Richmond County to the late George and Effie Reynolds Haines. She entered the University of Georgia at the age of 16, where she majored in Latin with a minor in French and zoology. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Chi Omega sororities. She was graduated with a B. A. degree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Cavan whom she met at UGA. They were married for 44 years until his death in 1983. She taught Latin at R. E. Lee Institute for several years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thomaston, where she taught the Alec Teal Sunday School Class. Graveside services were at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, with Mike Cavan officiating. Survivors include sons Mike and Becky Cavan, Athens, Jimmy and Ann Cavan, Kemp, Texas, and Pete and Debbie Cavan, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughters, Dr. Joannie Cavan, Peachtree City, and Dottie and Lew Akins, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Richard James Bush Jr.

Richard James “Snoozie” “Li’l Richard” Bush Jr., 24, died April 29, 2006. He was born Aug. 4, 1981 in Riverdale. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Deacon L. A. and Ozora Sinkfield, and Deacon A. D. and Sara Bush. In his younger days he was active in baseball and football. As he grew older he developed a love for music. William T. Wilkinson Jr.

William T. “Bill” Wilkinson Jr., 77, Chief Master Sergeant, United States Air Force, retired, died April 29, 2006. He was born Feb. 10, 1929 in Macon, son of W. T. and Beulah Mae Chiles Wilkinson Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Purvis Wilkinson, and a brother, Russell Wilkinson. He was a veteran of Vietnam, and was a veteran of 30 years service. He was also retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He attended the University of Georgia and took a degree from West Georgia College in 1974.He worked for a number of banks, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at Southern Community Bank, Fayetteville.He enjoyed serving as an announcer for the East Coweta High School and East Mecklenburg High School football teams. Services were at the Turin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Brown and the Rev. Griff Jones officiating. Interment was at Turin Memorial Gardens. Mary Patricia Banks

Mary Patricia “Pat” Banks, 64, died April 24, 2006. She was born Feb. 24, 1942 in Fulton County. She was reared in West End and was graduated from Brown High School in 1960. She attended Erskine College, Due West, S. C., graduating in 1964 with a B.A. in Education. She taught for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of North Fayette United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and worked with children. During Christmas season she was instrumental in Operation Christmas Child, seeing that shoeboxes were filled and donated. Services were at North Fayette United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeffrey David Ingram

Jeffrey David Ingram, 31, Newnan, died April 17, 2006. He was born May 26, 1974 in Fulton County, Ga. He was reared in Peachtree City, attending McIntosh High School and Georgia Southern University. His passion was the restaurant industry and expanded his culinary experience managing Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Buckhead, and opened his own restaurant in Inman Park. He decided to return to the Peachtree City-Newnan area and opened The Brickyard Restaurant in Newnan. He served as owner and principal chef. The restaurant will continue under the guidance of his wife, who is also an experienced restaurateur. Services were at the Fayetteville Church of Christ with Minister Aubrey Johnson officiating. James “Jimmy” William Hurd Jr., 47, Fayetteville, died April 21, 2006. He was born Feb. 2, 1959 in Monroe County, Mich. He had been employed at the Ford Motor Company since 1979 and currently worked at the Ford Assembly Plant, Hapeville, since 1985. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Donald Allen Harp Sr.

Donald Allen Harp Sr., 91, died April 18, 2006. He was born Feb. 24, 1915 in Fayette County. He was the son of William Henry Edward Mozee Harp and Eva Blanche Burch Harp, who married in January, 1907. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris McElroy Harp. He had farmed all his life in the same area where he was born and reared and was undoubtedly the last fulltime farmer in the county. He had served on the Fayette County Board of Education for eight years. He was a member of the Davidson Masonic Lodge, #334, F&AM, Woolsey. Services were at the Inman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Royeese Stowe and the Rev. Bob Kerr officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include a sons, the Rev. Milton J. Brown, 92, Peachtree City, died April 15, 2006. He was born April 16, 1914 in Thompson Falls, Mont. He had worked in Douglas Aircraft in southern California in 1936, in 1945 he started a toy manufacturing business and also worked at Lockheed California.
