Mary Patricia “Pat” Banks, 64, died April 24, 2006. She was born Feb. 24, 1942 in Fulton County. She was reared in West End and was graduated from Brown High School in 1960. She attended Erskine College, Due West, S. C., graduating in 1964 with a B.A. in Education. She taught for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of North Fayette United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and worked with children. During Christmas season she was instrumental in Operation Christmas Child, seeing that shoeboxes were filled and donated. Services were at North Fayette United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Survivors include children, Caroline and Levoyd Jones, Hampton, Jennifer and Tavares Bridges, Union City; mother, Edna Mae Baxter, Riverdale; grandchildren; Joy Diaz, Jasmine Bridges, Jordan Bridges, Chauntel Bridges, Tyson Bridges, and Ty©ˆana Bridges; a sister, Nancy Rucker, Sautee, Ga.; a nephew, David Rucker; a niece, Susan Gindra; and former husband, Manny Banks.
