Thomas Joshua Williams, 91, Fayetteville, died April 23, 2006. He was born Feb. 11, 1915 in Fayette County, the son of William Johnny and Wreathy Spratlin Williams. He had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s prior to service with the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester and the Rev. Jerry Cross officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vera J. Williams, Fayetteville; a son, Dr. Donald Thomas Williams, Toccoa; daughters, Nancy and David Barber, Hampton, and Joyce and Erik Warren, Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Heather Ottman, Thomas M. Williams, Jessica Barber, Jonathan Barber, Joshua Barber, Andrew Warren, Benjamin Warren, Timothy Warren, Seth Warren, and Lura Warren; a great-grandchild, Caleb Ottman; and sisters, Martha Gill Clark, Senoia, and Carrie Hazel Wright, Gainesville. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
