Harold Lee Sanford, 80, Fayetteville, died May 4, 2006. He was born July 13, 1925 in Toano, Va. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Sanford, and his parents. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy. He retired with 29 years service from Sears as the Southeastern Marketing Manager. He was longtime member of the Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow and a Watt Fellow. He was a member of the Fayetteville Masonic Lodge F&AM #711, and a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a co-founder of Beautiful Fayette and a past vice-president of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with interment at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Naomi “Jean” Sanford, Fayetteville; daughters, Pamela and Billy Martin, Sharpsburg, Linda and James Davis, McDonough, and Carol and Bob Ford, Marietta; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, Inc., 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Ga. 30253. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
