She was born Dec. 24, 1959 in Fulton County, the youngest of three daughters. She was preceded in death by her father, George White. He was a past member of the Grant Park Masonic Lodge F&AM. Robert Cully JohnstonRobert Cully Johnston, 89, Jonesboro, died Feb. 21, 2006. He was born Aug. 6, 1916 in Derma City, Calhoun County, Miss. He was preceded in death by brothers, George Johnston, and Harvey Johnston, and sisters, Juanita McVay and Margaret MacKnight. He was a 1939 graduate of Auburn University. Services were at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with the Rev. Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. She was born March 10, 1912 in Fayetteville, daughter of A. O. and Bessie Hill Blalock. The family were among the first settlers in Fayette County, around 1828. Her father was a Fayetteville lawyer and a Georgia State legislator. He also ran several businesses around the Courthouse Square. Her mother died in 1918 of the flu epidemic. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Brock, of Fairburn, whom she married in 1935, a son, David Brock, and a granddaughter, Danielle Brock. She was graduated from Fayette County schools and attended Georgia State College of Women in Milledgeville. After marriage she and her husband moved to Miami, where he was in management at Easter Airlines. She was graduated from the University of Miami and taught in the Miami public schools for more than 30 years. They were founding members of the Miami Springs Baptist Church. Her other interests included cooking, music, and travel. After returning to Fayetteville, they lived in the Blalock home place, which had been moved from its original site in Fayetteville near the courthouse, to Harris Road, near the southern part of the county. Memorial services will be at Inman United Methodist Church on March 4, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Royese Stowe will officiating. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II in the South Pacific Islands, He was retired from the Federal Government in 1973. He was ordained as a Congregational Holiness minister and served in the Central Georgia Conference for over 50 years. Services were at the Fayetteville Church of God with the Rev. He began an electronics career after high school, owning D and L Electronics, and working for Marconi Electronics. They transferred him from Ohio to LaGrange, Ga., where he held various positions before retiring in 2005. He held patent rights to a power backup unit.
