Ruth Virginia Spence, 94, Peachtree City, died Feb. 27, 2006. She was born July 16, 1911 in Columbus, Ohio.

Madeleine Brosseau Bodson, 82, Fayetteville, died Feb. 27, 2006. She was born June 10, 1923 in St. Lambert, Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Paul Bodson.

Deta White Thacker, 46, Peachtree City, died Feb. 25, 2006. She was born Dec. 24, 1959 in Fulton County, the youngest of three daughters. She was preceded in death by her father, George White. She graduated from Henry County High School and later attended Clayton State University. She was a 20-year employee of Bank of America. She had moved to Fayette County in 1986. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Chuck Hodges officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Dorothy Ann Nelson, 86, Jonesboro, died Feb. 22, 2006. She was born Nov. 27, 1919 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Price Nelson, and a son, James C.

James F. Carr, 84, Jonesboro, died Feb. 22, 2006. He was born Feb. 27, 1921 in Fulton County. He was a past member of the Grant Park Masonic Lodge F&AM.

Robert Cully Johnston, 89, Jonesboro, died Feb. 21, 2006. He was born Aug. 6, 1916 in Derma City, Calhoun County, Miss. He was preceded in death by brothers, George Johnston, and Harvey Johnston, and sisters, Juanita McVay and Margaret MacKnight. He was a 1939 graduate of Auburn University. Services were at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with the Rev. Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Kathleen Blalock Brock, 93, Fayetteville, died Feb. 21, 2006. She was born March 10, 1912 in Fayetteville, daughter of A. O. and Bessie Hill Blalock. The family were among the first settlers in Fayette County, around 1828. Her father was a Fayetteville lawyer and a Georgia State legislator. He also ran several businesses around the Courthouse Square. Her mother died in 1918 of the flu epidemic. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Brock, of Fairburn, whom she married in 1935, a son, David Brock, and a granddaughter, Danielle Brock. She was graduated from Fayette County schools and attended Georgia State College of Women in Milledgeville. After marriage she and her husband moved to Miami, where he was in management at Easter Airlines. She was graduated from the University of Miami and taught in the Miami public schools for more than 30 years. They were founding members of the Miami Springs Baptist Church. Her other interests included cooking, music, and travel. After returning to Fayetteville, they lived in the Blalock home place, which had been moved from its original site in Fayetteville near the courthouse, to Harris Road, near the southern part of the county. Memorial services will be at Inman United Methodist Church on March 4, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Royese Stowe will officiating. The Rev. Lewis L. Collins, 89, Fayetteville, died Feb. 20, 2006. He was born Nov. 28, 1916 in Gate City, Ga., son of Lou and Lewis Collins Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Bertha Leona Collins, and a granddaughter, Christina O’Kelley. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II in the South Pacific Islands, He was retired from the Federal Government in 1973. He was ordained as a Congregational Holiness minister and served in the Central Georgia Conference for over 50 years. Services were at the Fayetteville Church of God with the Rev. Harlie F. “Red” Mullins Jr., 80, Peachtree City, died Feb. 19, 2006. He was born Jan. 7, 1926 in Fulton County. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia in 1948, and was retired from Blalock Machinery and Equipment Company as a credit manager. He was formerly a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Stone Mountain, and a present member of Peachtree City First Baptist Church. He was affiliated for years with the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons. Frances M. Schreiber, 92, Fayetteville, died Feb. 18, 2006. She was born Sept. 6, 1913 in Summit County, Ohio.

David Allen Weiner, 67, Newnan, died Feb. 20, 2006. He was born in 1938 in Elyria, Ohio, son of Joseph and Lura Weiner. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Weiner, and brothers, Ralph Weiner, Fred Weiner, and Harry Weiner. He began an electronics career after high school, owning D and L Electronics, and working for Marconi Electronics. They transferred him from Ohio to LaGrange, Ga., where he held various positions before retiring in 2005. He held patent rights to a power backup unit. He enjoyed golf, bowling, wood-working, repairing radios and televisions, and traveling in the family Recreational Vehicle.

Roy H. Waters, 76, Fayetteville, died Feb. 11, 2006. He was born Sept. 10, 1929 in Fulton County. Services were at the Carl J.

Joseph Karl Kolman Sr., 66, Fayetteville, died Feb. 15, 2006. He was born Oct. 24, 1939 in Cook County, Ill. He was an aircraft mechanic for 43 years, retiring from Northwest Airlines in 2001.
