Robert S. “Bob” Ellington, 80, Fayetteville, formerly of Hapeville, died March 11, 2006. He was born May 15, 1925 in Oxford, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Starkey and Octavia Moon Ellington. He served in the United States Army and was retired from Cities Service Oil Company.

Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Overton Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham, and the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating. Interment was at Ellington Cemetery, Oxford, Ga.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Deane Barrett Ellington; a son, Terry Ellington, Dallas, Ga.; a granddaughter, Lindsay Ellington, Kennesaw, Ga.; step- daughters, Gayle Phillips Gilmore, Vero Beach, Fla., Kay Phillips and Richard Chamberlain, Charlotte, N.C., and Beth Phillips and Frank Hagan, Colts Neck, N. J.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
