George E. Stubbs Jr., 67, Screven, formerly of Newnan, died March 19, 2006. He was born Dec. 2, 1938 in Newnan, moving to Screven 10 years go. He was preceded in death by his father, George Edward Stubbs Sr., and parents, George A. and Elsie Stubbs Kempson. He had served in the United States Army, 1st Calvary, in Korea. He was a retired Construction worker and a member of the N. R. A.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his companion, Mildred Earline Vincent, Screven; a son, Keith W. Stubbs, Jonesboro; a daughter, Robin S. Collins, Locust Grove; grandchildren, David C. Stubbs, Stephanie Joyce Collins, Laura R. Stubbs, and Allison N. Stubbs; a brother, Paul W. Stubbs, Austin, Texas; and a sister, Brenda G. Sims, Brooks, Ga.

Gordon-Harrison Chapel, Jesup, was in charge.
