Mildred K. Harris, 84, Ladner, British Colombia, Canada, formerly of Peachtree City, died March 16, 2006. She was born Aug. 8, 1921 in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harris. While living in Peachtree City for nine years, she was very active in the city’s politics and in the 1990’s formed the “Concerned Citizens” group, which opposed the increased densities advanced by developers and the city council. After returning to Ladner, she learned of her induction into the Hall of Fame at the St. Georges Golf Club in Toronto, at which she was Club Champion five times, and had served as its first woman director.

Services were in Ladner.

Survivors include her children, Jim Harris, Michigan, Amanda Humphrey, Ladner, George Harris, Galiano, B. C., and John Harris, Toronto; and a brother, George Kadel, Peachtree City.
