James Allen Smith, 64, Covington, died Feb. 27, 2006. He was born Aug. 10, 1941 in Fulton County, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Craft Smith.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include sons, Mark and Melissa Smith, Covington, and Todd and Sheila Smith, Newnan; grandchildren, Matthew, Ryanne, Mitchell, Maeghen, and Dylan; brothers, Charles and Mary Ann Smith, Griffin, and Waymen Smith, Fayetteville; sisters, Shirley and Arlie Ayers, Meansville, Regina and Mickey Palmer, Whitesburg, Elaine and Steve Wright, Sharpsburg, and Charlene and Al Dwyer, Fayetteville.

Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
