Leta Mae Gullatt Gordon, 98, Newnan, died Sept. 17, 2008. She was born Sept. 13, 1910 in Campbell County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Mae Barnes Gullatt, her husband, John B. Gordon, and a daughter, Ellen G. Patrick.

W. A. "Mickey" Williams Jr.

W. A. "Mickey" Williams Jr., Sharpsburg, died Sept. 21, 2008. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on July 15, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston A. and Ruth Williams Sr., a sister, Lavelle Petty, and a son, Joe Williams. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a member of the United States Army 29th Division, 115th Infantry, during the D-Day Normandy invasion, and was captured and held prisoner by the Germans until the end of the war. He was a member of the World War Il Roundtable, the VFW, The Gideon's International, Ramah First Baptist Church, and was a charter member of Canongate Country Club.

John Grunden, 65, Fayetteville, died Sept. 9, 2008. He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division from 1961 to 1964.

R. H. Neely, Newnan

R. H. Neely, Newnan, died Aug. 28, 2008. He was born Nov. 13, 1913 in Newnan. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Richmond and Rachel Neely, ten siblings, his wife, Mary Gibson Neely, and a stepson, Harold Gibson. At an early age he joined St. Peter Baptist Church where he served as a deacon until his health failed. He had worked at Royal Molding for many years until he retired.

Thelma Poythress, Atlanta, died Aug. 28, 2008. She was born Nov. 8, 1936 in Senoia, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Lizzie Mae Andrews Hayes, three brothers, and three sisters. She joined the Neriah Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Central High School in Newnan, and was self-employed. She was a very good seamstress and a loving, devoted mother.

Henry Alton "Buddy" Watts Jr., 79, Newnan, died Sept. 2, 2008. He was born Feb. 13,1929 in Newnan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. and Bess McCullough Watts, and a daughter, Terrie Blair. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Chairman of the Trustees. Services were at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. John Riley and the Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
