Virginia Monroe Lewis, 82, Fayetteville, died Sept. 30, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Lewis Jr., her father, Monroe Blalock, and mother, Beulah S. Baker. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Paul Carder and Pastor Howard Alexander officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, College Park. Survivors include sons, Larry Lewis and Caren Davis, and Danny and Kim Lewis, all of High Falls; daughters, Brenda and Jay Meier, Fayetteville, Sandi and Kim Berry, Plainville, Vicki and Ricky Padgett, Lindale, and Shirley Lewis and Michael Goulet, Morrow; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Haley, College Park, and Edith Lewis, Boone County, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
