Ellen Eunice Redmond RockettEllen Eunice Redmond Rockett, 91, Peachtree City, died Dec. 18, 2008. She was born in Shellhorn, Ala., and grew up in Bessemer, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Rockett III. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church in Bessemer and later in St. Louis. She was an interior designer beginning her career in Birmingham and worked for many years in St. Louis before beginning her own business, Shellhorn Galleries. Ronald Louis WeisRonald Louis Weis, 74, Peachtree City, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Dec. 18, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Agnes Weis. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He began a career with the NCR corporation retiring as the technical instruction project manager with 36 years of service. He was a heart transplant recipient of 21 years. Lydia West JohnsonLydia West Johnson, Fairburn, Fayette County, died Dec. 19, 2008. She was born April 28, 1918 in Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mattie Abercrombie West, and her husband of 54 years, Charlie F. Johnson. She was retired from Arrow Shirt Company with 32 years of service. Dr. Harry L. Cheves Jr.Dr. Harry L. Cheves Jr., Riverdale, Fayette County, died Dec. 21, 2008. Services were at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Cheves; a son, Michael and Kim Cheves, Blue Ridge, Ga.; and grandchildren, Hailey and Tristan Cheves. Miller. She was retired from Rich's Department store, Lenox Square, where she worked in the drapery department. She loved doing needlework. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City, where she attended the Kirby Class. Madison Leigh WrightMadison Leigh Wright, 22, Wauwatosa, Wisc., died Nov. 27, 2008, while visiting grandparents in Fayetteville. She was born April 10, 1986 in West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Her family moved to Wauwatosa in 1990. A celebration of life was at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, Brookfield, Wisc. Lamar Eugene MooreLamar Eugene Moore, 59, Griffin, died Nov. 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Abner L. Moore, and a sister, Eloise Moore Jackson. He was self-employed in the concrete finishing business. Cindy Spear ManleyCindy Spear Manley, Peachtree City, died Dec. 2, 2008. She was born June 26,1958 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. T. "Red" and Betty McLarin Spear. Memorial services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel. Eva Mae ChapmanEva Mae Chapman, 72, Brooks, died Dec. 4, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Chapman, sisters, Katherine Edwards, and Sara Collins, and a brother, Raymond Sagon. Jack FanninJack Fannin, 89, Carrollton, formerly of Atlanta, died Dec. 5, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Eady Fannin, and a daughter, Jackie Avrett. He was a postal carrier for over 30 years before retirement. He loved sports, gardening and cheering on his Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. John Robert Drennan Sr.John Robert "Bob" Drennan Sr., 71, Greenville, formerly of Fayetteville, died Dec. 5, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Paul and Mercedes Ellison Drennan. He was the grandson of a Confederate veteran of the War Between The States, John Ellison. He enjoyed farming his whole life. For 34 years he sold truck parts which led to his founding D&B. Truck Parts and Fayette Wrecker. Mary StinchcombMary Stinchcomb, 87, Fayetteville, died Dec. 5, 2008. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Meehan Sr., second husband, John Robert Stinchcomb, and a son, Sherman Meehan Jr. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Fayetteville, where she loved attending her Sunday School class. She loved her family and adored children. Thomas W. Rounds Jr.Thomas W. Rounds Jr., Fayetteville, died Dec. 7, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. and Mary F. Rounds, a brother, Charles F. Rounds, sister-in-law, Janet Rounds, and a niece, Erin Beth Nugent. He was a graduate of North High School and had served for 13 years in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for 20 years for IBM at various facilities prior to his retirement. He loved to travel, read, and play golf. Funeral arrangements were private. Memorial services were at Peachtree City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sean Robinson and the Rev. Herzen Andone officiating. Wylie R. MartinWylie R. Martin, Palmetto, died Dec. 11, 2008. He was born Oct. 29, 1934 in York, S.C. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobby Shumate. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force as a tech sergeant and was also retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta. He was an active member of the Tyrone First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Emma Mae HallEmma Mae Hall, 93, Jonesboro, died Dec. 11, 2008. She was born in Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Hall, a daughter, Betty Morris, and parents, Joseph Marion and Randy Jackson Ivey. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Cash, Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and brother, Eugene Ivey, Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Chitwood. Carole Lorraine McIntoshCarole Lorraine McIntosh, Union City, died Nov. 17, 2008. She was born Jan. 6, 1938 in Chicago, Ill. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Minister Les Shell and Minister Tony Sullivan officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Don Norman Cox, Jr.Don Norman Cox Jr., Newnan, formerly of Peachtree City, died Nov. 22, 2008. He was graduated from the University of Alabama in 1968 with a degree in Finance. Nine years later he moved his family to Peachtree City and opened one of the town's first restaurants, Pac-A-Chic. He was an active member of the McIntosh Community Chorus and in subsequent years in designing and constructing sets for the choir's many productions. He worked locally at Bulldog Supply in Peachtree City for over 25 years. Jean Pierre Gary FaustinJean Pierre Gary Faustin, Senoia, died Nov. 22, 2008, following a long battle with cancer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, He had worked for many years for DHL and United Airlines. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Roy Lee Coggin Jr.Roy Lee Coggin Jr., Newnan, died Nov. 23, 2008. He was born July 17, 1945, son of the late Roy Lee and Vera Bell Goodwin Coggin Sr. He was a native of Coweta County, growing up on a farm in the Handy area. He was active in youth sports and was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge, F&AM. He was retired minister who had formed his own church and also served as a visiting minister in several other churches in the area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Carrie Vaughan Pritchett of Moreland, and her husband, James B. Jackson. Betty Jo Toll YeagerBetty Jo Toll Yeager, 85, died Oct. 28, 2008. She was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Morland, Kan., to the late Joe and Elsie Edwards Toll. She was a graduate of the Asbury Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, Kan. She was employed at Newnan Hospital from 1946 to 1972. At the time of her retirement, she was associated with Howell Industrial Clinic in Atlanta. She was a member of Newnan First Baptist Church. Louise M. SuttonLouise M. Sutton, 85, Sharpsburg, died Nov. 2, 2008. She was born in Hamburg, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Effie Sybils Lanier, and her husband, Sears Sutton. Mabel Grimes CoxMabel Grimes Cox, 93, Newnan, died Nov. 4, 2008. She was born Feb. 1, 1915 and was raised in he Welcome Community of Newnan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha "Mort" and Elizabeth Wortham Grimes, her husband, Malvin "Chick" Cox, brothers, Hewlette Grimes and Alton Grimes, and a sister, Mary Grimes Crain. She was a longtime member of Providence Baptist Church and the North Fayette Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Christian City for 19 years. She spent her lifetime taking care of the needs of all her family. Charles B. Van LandinghamCharles B. Van Landingham, 64, Newnan, died Nov. 4, 2008. He was born Jan. 31, 1944 in Hot Springs, Ark to the late Charles O. and Mildred Bryce Van Landingham. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge F&AM. Lola Marie GrizzardLola Marie Grizzard, 89, Hampton, died Oct. 31. 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Grizzard, a son, James Kenneth Grizzard, daughter, Linda Marie Ballentine, four brothers, and two sisters. Howard Claxton ShepardHoward Claxton Shepard, 86, Fayetteville, formerly of Hapeville and East Point, died Oct. 26, 2008. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II.
