Wylie R. Martin, Palmetto, died Dec. 11, 2008. He was born Oct. 29, 1934 in York, S.C. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobby Shumate. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force as a tech sergeant and was also retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta. He was an active member of the Tyrone First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Tyrone First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Martin, Palmetto; a son, Chris and Brandy Martin, Sharpsburg; a daughter, Lisa and Roger Graham, Fairburn; brothers, Hap and Frances Martin, Cleveland, and John and Peggy Martin, Dallas; and grandchildren, Zachary Robbins, and Michael and Matthew Martin. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
