Dorothy Buffington Hughie Smith, 89, Sharpsburg, died Aug. 29, 2008. She was born Oct. 27, 1918 in Earle, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sara Pogue Buffington, her first husband, Henry L. Hughie, her second husband, William R. Smith, and two brothers. She was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church.Memorial services were at McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Frank Powers and the Rev. Pat Latta officiating.

Montine Bell Caldwell Todd, 92, Senoia, died Aug. 30, 2008.in St. Marys, Ga. She was born Nov. 19, 1915 in Hall County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Molly Young Bell, her first husband, Elbert E. Caldwell Sr., a son, Elbert Eugene "Bert" Caldwell, and a grandson, Tim Caldwell.

Fred Henry Adamson

Fred Henry Adamson, 57, Sharpsburg, died Aug. 30, 2008. He was born March 9, 1961 to the late W. C. and Lucile Banks Adamson. He was a 1970 graduate of East Coweta High School and a lifelong resident of Sharpsburg. He enjoyed cooking, growing flowers, and entertaining friends at the "Old House" home place. Two of his favorite events were the dove season opening breakfast and the Halloween hayride party.

Lucille Bernard Westbrook, 96, Union City, formerly of Augusta, died Aug. 21, 2008. She was born in Iradell County, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Daisy Campbell Barnard, brothers, William Barnard, Royal Barnard, and a son, David Curtis Westbrook, and sisters, Ethel Brewer, Nella Barnard, and Helen Bell.

The Rev. David Black, 69, Fayetteville, died Aug. 21, 2008. He was born Aug. 16, 1939 in Cairo, W. Va. He had served the Jackson and Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Jackson, Ga., and the Fayette Presbyterian Church, from which he retired in 1999.

Marion Oslin Ridenhour Jr.

Marion Oslin Ridenhour Jr., 60, Senoia, died Aug. 12, 2008. He was born Dec. 8, 1947 in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Oslin Ridenhour Sr. He had resided in Coweta County for over 30 years. He had worked for Delta Air Lines as a Terminal Maintenance Manager for 37 years. He was an active member of Sharpsburg Baptist Church where he served as finance chair, deacon chair, a member of the choir and also as a Sunday School teacher. He had served as the President and Lieutenant Governor for the Optimist Club of Senoia. Memorial services were at the Sharpsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Wallace McAbee officiating.

Dexter R. Noble Sr.

Dexter R. Noble Sr., Senoia, died Aug. 13, 2008. Services were at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Whitewater Ward, with Bishop Stebar officiating. Interment was at Berea Cemetery, Hampton, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Judy Noble, Senoia; children, Mark and Teresa Noble, Huntsville, Ala., Ron Noble Jr., Buford, Roger and Donna Noble, Peachtree City, Allison Vickers, and Christy Smith, both of Senoia, and Rob and Amy Noble, Lithonia; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Noble, Chamblee; a nephew, Michael Noble; and a niece, Cindy Coker.

Donna McCue

Donna McCue, 76, Peachtree City, died Aug. 15, 2008. She was born Nov. 16, 1931 in Aliquippa, Pa. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a strong Christian with a kind heart.

Mary Kathleen Storm, 86, Newnan, died Aug. 16, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lamont Storm, and a son, James Q. Storm. She was a charter member of Bethsaida Church in Riverdale, and had been a member of Community Baptist Church in Griffin.

Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Skaggs, Newnan; children, Rachel Skaggs, and Patrick Orman-Scaggs; and parents, Leon and Eunice Skaggs, Missouri.

Bernice Jones Jackson, age 86, of Peachtree City, GA, died on Aug 4, 2008. She was born August 28, 1921 in Memphis, TN and lived in southern California for many years.
