Oliver Jolly

Oliver Jolly, 83, Hampton, died Sept. 10, 2008. He was a World War II veteran with the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Jolly, a son, Donnie Jolly, a great-grandchild, Logan Lovins, and special friend, Edna Rosser. He was a longtime meat cutter at A & T Supermarket which sat at the corner of Jeff Davis and Hwy. 54. He spent time teaching Henry County Middle School students about the dangers of smoking. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Survivors include a son, Ronnie and Teresa Jolly, Locust Grove; a daughter, Deborah and Glynn Lovins, Hampton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Lester Jolly, Texas; and faithful dog, Ginger. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
