Giovanni "John" Scollo, 85, Fayetteville, died Sept. 9, 2008. He was born May 19, 1923 in Vittoria, Sicily, Italy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marie Grace Scollo. He served in the Italian Army as a young man and was the first in his family of seven to arrive in the United States. He entered in 1958 and settled in Paterson, N.J., where he met his wife. He worked for Roman Frozen Food Products for 18 years, and then opened his own pizzeria restaurant in West Caldwell, N.J. Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Michael Kingery officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a daughter, Maria and Julio Castillo; grandchildren, Anthony and Stephanie; and a sister, Maria Lamarmola, Sicily. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
