John Grunden, 65, Fayetteville, died Sept. 9, 2008. He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division from 1961 to 1964. He started two small businesses in Fayetteville, The Jonathan Insurance and Risk Management Company, and the Classic Cue Family Billiard Room. He was a past chairman of the Fayette County Republican Party as well as an international vice president of Civitan. His passions included his grandchildren and his love for hot rod cars, especially old Buicks. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Wallace McAbee officiating. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Pat Grunden, Fayetteville; a son, Marc and Sena Grunden; grandchildren, Jackson and Charlsie; and brothers, Tom Grunden, and Bill Grunden, both of St. Mary's, Ohio, and Dick Grunden, Wichita, Kan. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
