Brenda Matthews, 62, Fairburn, died Aug. 24, 2007. She was born May 18, 1946 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Watson E. Mills officiating. James Fleugel

James Fleugel, Peachtree City, died Aug. 26, 2007 from cancer diagnosed June 22, 2007. He was born Dec. 19, 1961 in Akron, Ohio but grew up in Plantation, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, John Fleugel. He was graduated from Brigham Young University and served as a missionary in California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had worked for Delta Air Lines for the past seven years. Services were at the Church of Jesus Christ for Latter-day Saints, Peachtree City, with Bishop Kevin Bentley officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, whom he married in 2004 in the Washington DC Temple, Allysin Jones Fleugel, a daughter to whom he became a father in January, 2007, Emily Fleugel; and mother, Ruth Fleugel, all of whom live in Peachtree City. Walla "Mac" McDaniel Jr., Tyrone, died Aug. 30, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara McDaniel. He was a member of the Tyrone Masonic Lodge #644 F&AM, and was retired from Civil Service. Iris Elaine Beard Wilmont

Iris Elaine Beard Wilmont, 67, Fayetteville, died Aug. 18,2007, after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Commerce, Jackson County, daughter of Charles and Dovena V. Beard. She was a Fayetteville artist and business woman of many years. She was a member of Vineyard community Church, Senoia. A memorial service was held at Vineyard Community Church. Survivors include her husband, Henry Wilmont; a brother, Larry H. and Linda Beard, Atlanta; sons, Chris Baird, Oxley, Ala., and Dan Wilmont, Jackson; a stepson, Curtin Wilmont, Savannah; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bonnie Lee Palmer

Bonnie Lee Palmer, Fayetteville, died Aug. 19, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin "Dick" Palmer in 1961 and a grandson, Scott Jordan. Lee Barylski

Lee Barylski, 75, Fayetteville, died Aug. 19, 2007. He was born May 6, 1932 in Sosnowlec, Poland. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a favorite dog, Ceildh. He attended the Silesian University of Technology in Gilwice, Poland, and held a degree in mechanical engineering. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 and moved to Cordele in 1972. He worked as a structural engineer with Harris Waste Management, retiring after 30 years. He was a bike racing enthusiast and celebrated his 74th birthday by riding laps on his bike on the East Point velodrome. He had an avid interest in history and political discourse, having sought political asylum in the United States. He loved travel, and had visited all 50 states and most national parks. He moved to Fayetteville in 2005 and was a frequent visitor to the Line Creek Nature Center and the Peachtree City Dog Park. No services are planned at this time. Survivors include his wife, Irena Barylski, Fayetteville; a daughter, Barbara Barylski and David Walker, Peachtree City, and another her favorite dog, Bigos. Peggy Jean Kemmerer

Peggy Jean Kemmerer, 74, Fayetteville, died Aug. 20, 2007. She was born June 11, 1933 in Spalding County. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services were at the Carl J. John Evans Hart

John Evans Hart, 81, Fayetteville, died Aug. 20, 2007. He was born Sept. 14,1925 in Baltimore, Md. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a veteran of World War II, having served as an officer in the United States Navy. He completed additional studies at the University of Maryland and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a registered professional electrical Engineer in the District of Columbia. He worked at Lockheed Martin for 33 years. He was also employed at the naval research laboratory in Washington DC. He was a talented magician and member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Apostles, Sandy Spring, Ga., and then a member of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Carolyn Dobbs Loyd

Carolyn Dobbs Loyd, 65, Zebulon, formerly of Fayetteville, died Aug. 22, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born March 5, 1942 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Dobbs, and grandchildren, Joseph and Thomas. She was a member of Meansville Baptist Church and enjoyed being a grandmother.

James Albert Fowler Sr.

James Albert Fowler Sr., 88, Fairburn, died Aug. 17, 2007. Prior to World War II, he served in the United States Army and in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Second Marine Division Association, Guadalcanal, was a Master Mason and was retired from the Mead Packaging Company. Memorial services were at the Antioch United Methodist Church, Fairburn. Donald Edward Tolbert

Donald Edward Tolbert, 70, Newnan, died Aug. 19, 2007. He was a native of Newnan. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis E. Tolbert, and a brother, Dennis Tolbert. He was graduate of Newnan High School, and was a dedicated member of Newnan First United Methodist Church and had owned and operated the Tolbert Insurance Agency. He had been active in the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce. Services were at the Newnan First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Med Roach and the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, by the side of his first wife, Janie Sue Tolbert. Survivors include his mother, Eva Mae Wilson Tolbert, Newnan; his wife, Jennifer Harrod Tolbert, Newnan; a daughter, Jennifer Tolbert and Jim Oliver, Peachtree City; their children, James Thomas Oliver III and Donald Tolbert Oliver, both of Peachtree City; other survivors include Kristin and Matt Rossey, Shelley and Kyle Brooks; their children, Corey Brooks, and Ryan Brooks; and a brother, David Tolbert, Newnan. Vera Bryan Sutton

Vera Bryan Sutton, 86, Union City, died Aug. 20, 2007. She was born Feb. 19, 1921 in Hall County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe E. Sutton, and was the last of eight brothers and sisters. When living in Gainesville, she was proud of the fact that she worked for two years while earning her high school diploma and did not retire from public work until 77 years of age. She was a member of Shadnor First Baptist Church, was a supporter of Southwest Christian Care and loved to sew and work in her garden.

John S. Ronas

John S. Ronas, Major, United States Army, retired, 84, Jonesboro, died Aug. 10, 2007. He was born May 28, 1923 in Theresa, N.Y. He made the army a career and retired as a major with 20 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War, and settled in Fayetteville upon retirement. He had faithfully delivered more than a million copies of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution over 26 years. He was a Mason for over 50 years. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Gregory Hicks officiating. Military graveside services were at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Mary "Dee" Ronas, Jonesboro; a son, Mark and Cathy Ronas, Harpers Ferry. Rudolph John Blomseth, 87, Fayetteville, died Aug. 14,2007. He was born Oct. 18, 1919 in Norway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Goudie Blomseth, and a son-in-law, Ray L. Denman. He served in World War II in the 8th Air Force 94 GB 333 SQDN, and was a prisoner of war for 14 months. He was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Riverdale Masonic Lodge #709 and the Sons of Norway. No service is planned at this time. Sara "Kathryn" Milner Blake, 85, Fayetteville, died Aug. 14, 2007, just three months after her husband Gene Blake, died. They would have been married 65 years on Aug. 29, 2007.
