Vera Bryan Sutton, 86, Union City, died Aug. 20, 2007. She was born Feb. 19, 1921 in Hall County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe E. Sutton, and was the last of eight brothers and sisters. When living in Gainesville, she was proud of the fact that she worked for two years while earning her high school diploma and did not retire from public work until 77 years of age. She was a member of Shadnor First Baptist Church, was a supporter of Southwest Christian Care and loved to sew and work in her garden.

Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sandor Cheka officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, College Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Wilda and Richard Jarrett, Fayetteville; granddaughters, Richelle Jordan, Fayetteville, and Revonda Zurn, Eden Prairie, Minn.; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Jordan, Katherine Jordan, Jack Zurn, and Beau Zurn.
