Donald Augustus McColloughDonald Augustus McCollough, 65, Sparta, died Oct. 14, 2007. He was born in New Kensington, Pa. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a volunteer firefighter in Sparta. Virginia Dickerson GreerVirginia (Sue) Dickerson Greer, 92, of Thomasville, died Sept. 24, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Thomasville. Born Feb. 20, 1915 in Fulton, Colo., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Lena Hughes Dickerson. She was married to Henry R. Greer, who preceded her in death. She was a retired secretary, homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include niece, Mary Bell, and husband Gene of Thomasville, nephew James C.Morris, and wife Jenny of Mauldin, S.C., nephew, Robert E. Morris, of Marietta. Allen & Allen Funeral Home, Thomasville, was in charge. Granville Richard BunchGranville Richard (George) Bunch, 89, longtime resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died Aug. 19, 2007, in Peachtree City. He was born July 13, 1918, in Key West, Fla., the eldest son of Eugene Brantley and Margaret Ann Jerguson Bunch. Raised in Thornwell Orphanage in Clinton, S.C., Mr. Bunch graduated in the first senior class of College Park High School. He volunteered for the Air Force in 1940, serving in England, North Africa and Italy. An automobile mechanic by trade, he served as an elder in the Bethany Presbyterian, Calvary Presbyterian and Rio Vista Community Churches throughout his life. He was married for 48 years to Jessie Marie Winford, who died in 1995. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Bunch Donham of Decatur and Gwen Bunch Garrison of Peachtree City; five granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Donham, Megan Leigh Hinson, Allison Nicole Hinson, Stefanie Marie Donham and Vanessa Claire Hinson; three step-grandchildren, Laura Kay Garrison, Sarah Ann Garrison Black, and Christopher William Garrison; and a step-great granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Black; nieces, Sandra Winford Parrot, Ann Winford Tuttle, Yvonne Winford Thompson, and Lynn Gibson Richardson; nephews, Kenneth Winford, Richard Winford, and Robert Mack Winford. He was a graduate of Mercer University and previously worked for Delta for more than 20 years and had worked at American Express for the last ten years. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Holland, and his father-in-law, Alexander W. Skoropat. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary Skoropat Holland of Fayetteville; daughters Katie F. and Amanda N. Holland of Fayetteville; mother Irene G. Holland of Covington; mother-in-law Florine R. Skoropat of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law Harry (Sandi) Skoropat of Valdosta, Phillip (Marsha) Skoropat of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Alex Skoropat of Kissimmee, Fla. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville, was in charge. Robert Carroll WalterRobert Carroll Walter, 87, of Rensselaer, Ind. died Oct. 7, 2007 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Jasper County, Ind. to Dora (McCurey) Walter and William Walter. He was a lifetime resident and a 1938 graduate of Rensselaer High School. He was a self employed farmer for 60 years and a retired clerk with the United States Postal Service in Rensselaer. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. On March 26, 1951 in Rensselaer he married Tennis Lorene Deardurff who passed away April 13, 2007. He also was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by four sons, Robert (Gerry) Walter Jr. of Rensselaer, Ind., Thomas (Debbie) Walter of Walkerton, Ind., Harold (Jan) Walter, Martinsville, Ind., and Russell (Laury) Walter, Peachtree City, Ga.; a daughter, Mary Ann (Ron) Stockberger, Frankfort, Ind.; one sister, Lucille Downs, Kokomo, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leonard Cook, Sr.Leonard Cook, Sr., age 70, of Newnan, passed away on September 24,2007. He is survived by his wife, Sue Cook of Newnan. Children, Leonard Cook, Jr. Cavin Foster SullivanCavin Foster Sullivan, 65, passed away in his home in Newnan. September 19, 2007 following an apparent stroke. He had lived in Newnan since his retirement from the US Army in 1989 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was born in Big Spring, TX September 17, 1942 to Lawrence and Pauline Sullivan and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1961. He attended Tarleton State University and received a BS in Government in 1965 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant at that time. He was a member of the Los Caballeros and Madrigal singers. Charles Alford Barrett, Sr.Charles A. Barrett, Sr., age 80, of Newnan, died September 24, 2007 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital as a result of complications from a heart attack. A native of Fulton County, Georgia, he was born January 31, 1927 the son of the late Paul S. and Stell Hendrick Barrett. In 1943, he graduated from Campbell High School in Fairburn. Charles graduated from The University of Georgia in 1949. He was associated with Kappa Alpha Order and served as vice-president of that organization. Additionally, he served on the Interfraternity Council. A true patriot, Charles was a veteran of The United States Army and the U.S. Maritime Service. His love for his country and dedication to its principles extended throughout his life. Billy J. MyersBilly J. Myers, age 73, of Moreland, Ga, formerly of Lexington, NC. died September 22, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Betty Myers. Wayne H. StoneWayne H. Stone, 79, died September 26, 2007 at his home in Newnan, GA after a long illness. He was born December 30, 1927 in Seneca, SC to the late Carl & Maude Holliday Stone. He served in the Army and was a veteran of WWII & Korea. He spent his entire professional career with Belk Department Stores, beginning in Florida in the shoe department and advancing to Executive Vice-President of the Belk Atlanta Group where he was responsible for 35 stores. Upon retirement from Belk, he moved to Newnan to raise cattle and hay. He was an active member of the Georgia Cattleman's Association. He is survived his wife, Phyllis Day Stone; son, Wayne H. Stone, Jr., daughters, Nancy L. Stone, Teri Stone Pirie; sister, Nancy Singleton; brother, Theron Stone; grandchildren, Kristen Pirie &Paige Pirie; numerous nieces & nephews.
