Shirley Jennine GravesShirley Jennine Graves, 56, Middleburg, Fla., formerly of Fayetteville, died Aug. 4, 2007. She was born Aug. 5, 1950 in Fulton County. She was retired from Summitt Industries after 19 years as a credit manager. While living in Fayetteville she was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and upon moving to Middleburg in 2004 she became a member of Embassy of Christ Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Jim Pringle officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park. She was born July 24, 1924 in Brooks County, Ga. She worked in the accounting department of Delta Air Lines and then became head teller at the Farmers and Merchants Bank, Fayetteville. She was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church where she taught both adult and children's Sunday School. Services were at the Overton Chapel of Fayetteville First Baptist with the Rev. She was born July 13, 1949 in Fayette County, daughter of the late Harvey and Sarah Emma Whitlock Couch. She was a 1967 graduate of Fayette County High School. She was a member of The Faith Baptist Church, Jackson, was a homemaker, and assisted her husband in their business, Buddy's Body Shop, Locust Grove. He was born Nov. 16, 1920, the last of seven children born to Dee and Lizzie Chaney, in Emhouse, Texas. While on flight training at Dobbins Naval Air Station he met a southern belle on a blind date and knew his life would forever be connected to the Atlanta area. He was a naval aviator in World War II and upon discharge worked at Delta Air Lines for 36 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, sports enthusiast and master gardener. He was the northeast vice president of sales for Hoffman Industries before retiring in the 1980s. He never met a stranger and left each and every situation he encountered with a new set of friends. William Angelo GrengaWilliam Angelo Grenga, 80, Newnan, died July 21,2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Eva Grenga, brothers, James Grenga, John Grenga, and Bobby Grenga, and sisters, Louise Grenga Port, and Dr. Helen E. Grenga. He was captain and quarterback of the Georgia Tech football team and later at West Georgia College. He was inducted into the Coweta Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. In World War II he served as a corporal in the Army Air Corps. He was former deacon at the First Baptist Church of Newnan, and retired in 1981 with 37 years of service with the United States Postal Service. He was retired as a Customer Service Agent with Delta Air Lines with 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Anderson, and a brother, Steven Anderson. She was a graduate of McIntosh High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in biology from North Georgia College and University. At the time of her death, she was working on a master's degree in medical management. This year she was an ambassador for "The Relay for Life." As a non-smoker diagnosed with lung cancer, she worked to bring awareness to the rising number of lung cancer cases in non-smokers.
