Betty Lou Taylor, 76, Peachtree City, died May 8, 2007. She was born Feb. 12, 1931 in Imperial Valley, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor.

Palmer D. Bridges

Palmer D. Bridges, 81, McDonough, died May 10, 2007. He was born Oct. 31, 1925 in Cordele. He was a retired captain of Republic Airline, formerly Southern Airways. He was graduated from Americas High School and in 1943 enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. After discharge, he was a civilian flight instructor at the Bainbridge Air Base. He began flying with Southern Airways as a pilot and retired in 1984. Services were at the Overton Chapel, First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Frances A. Jenkins

Frances A. Jenkins, 79, Conyers, died May 11, 2007. She was a native of DeKalb County, and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church Tyrone. She was a member of the Recycled Kids Senior Adult Ministry. Services were at the Horis A. Ward Funeral chapel with Pastor Steve Love and the Rev. Scott Pickering officiating. Interment was at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, Conyers.

Charlotte H. Little

Charlotte "Micki" H. Little, 91, Fayetteville, died May 12, 2007. She was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Little. She was a homemaker, a long-time volunteer in the Mother's March for the March of Dimes, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and a hospital aide in Kalamazoo, Mich., where she lived for many years. Upon retirement she lived in Boca Raton, Fla. Memorial services were at the Azalea Estates Assisted Living and Retirement Community, Fayetteville.

James R. Smith

James R ."Bob" Smith, 84, Peachtree City, died May 13, 2007. He was born July 28, 1922 in Birmingham, Ala. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army in Europe. He was at the Normandy Invasion. He was a Ham Radio operator whose call sign was KE4BNH. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Chaplain Dan Akin officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marilou Smith, Peachtree City; children, Douglas and Glenda Smith, Benton, Ark., and Julie and Brian Cook, Fayetteville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith, Dallas, Texas. Thomas Edward Gibbons

Thomas Edward Gibbons, 56, Fayetteville, died May 15, 2007. He was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Toccoa. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brown. Services were at the Carl J. Shirley Huddleston

Shirley Huddleston, 89, Hernando, Miss., formerly of Jonesboro, died May 18, 2007. She was born Oct. 1, 1917 in Island, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Huddleston. Services were at Jonesboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Irwin Perry officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Vivian Frances Palmer

Vivian Frances Palmer, Grantville, died April 29,, 2007. She was nanny for 20 years and loved to look after children. Terry Hollar Cluelow

Terry Hollar Cluelow, 56, Peachtree City, died April 28, 2007. She was born May 25, 1950 in Watauga County, N.C., daughter of John Henry and Theresa Payseur Hollar. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Hollar II, Todd, N.C. She was a 1968 graduate of Watauga High School, and a 1972 graduate of Meredith College, Raleigh, N. C. In September, 1993, she graduated from Griffin Technical Institute with high honors in radiological technology and was employed in this field. Memorial services were at Providence Baptist Church, Palmetto.

Christopher C. Burnett Jr.

Christopher C. Burnett Jr., 78, Fayetteville, died April 29, 2007. He was born Dec. 7, 1928 in Atlanta and grew up in East Point. He was a graduate of Russell High School in 1946. He had served in the United States Navy and was a licensed pilot. He attended John Marshall Law School and the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. He worked in that field until retiring in the mid-1990s. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hapeville, serving as a deacon, a member of the finance committee and a youth Sunday School teacher. He was a past member of the Airport Area Kiwanis Club, the Georgia Bankers Association, and the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce.

Wilton Eugene Blake

Dr. Wilton Eugene "Gene" Blake, 86, Fayetteville, died May 1, 2007. He was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Pike County. He was a veteran of world War II, serving with Patton's 3rd Army Division, and participated in the Normandy Invasion. He attended Emory University and Auburn Veterinary School. He was a veterinarian in Tampa for 32 years, retiring in 1981. Graveside services were at Magnolia Cemetery, Concord, Ga. with the Rev. Bob Graham officiating.

Andrew Stephen Boland Jr.

Senior Master Sgt. Andrew Stephen Boland Jr., United States Army, retired, 85, Peachtree City, formerly of East Point, died May 2, 2007. He was born Jan. 19, 1922 in Scranton, Pa. He served 27 years in the United States Army in World War II, and was a P.O.W. in Germany. He had served in Korea and was stationed in Japan. Graveside services were at the College Park Cemetery with full military honors. Rob Boland officiated.

Angelia M. Jackson

Angelia M. Jackson, 53, Tyrone, died May 2, 2007. She was born Sept. 5, 1953 in Cambridge, England. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Hart Jackson.

William Peter Kurtz

William Peter Kurtz, 86, Fayetteville, died May 5, 2007. He was born Feb. 3, 1921 in Cairo, Alexander County, Ill. He had served in the United States Air Force, retiring with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Masons, F&AM. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Greg Morris officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ann E. Kurtz, Fayetteville; a son, Raymond L. and Barbara Phillips, Hawaii; a daughter, Janice and Martin Colon, Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Richard Eugene Thornton

Richard Eugene Thornton, 72, Fayetteville, died April 22, 2007. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy where he served in Vietnam. James Webster Day

James Webster Day, 78, LaGrange, died April 24, 2007. He was born October 29, 1928 in Chambers County, Ala., son of the late Sam and Clara Howell Day. He was preceded in death by a son, Orien Day. He had lived in LaGrange for the past 54 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. He was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Lion's Club. Services were at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Interment was at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Albert Jerry Sessa

Albert Jerry Sessa, 89, Fayetteville, died April 25, 2007. He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Sessa, and sisters Nancy Guerra and Edith Onorato. He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Father Jimmy Adams officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Johanna Emily Uher

Johanna Emily Uher, 93, Newnan, died April 20, 2007. She was born July 1, 1913 in Chicago, Ill, daughter of George and Johanna Walsek Dvorak. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Fred Stanley Uher, and a son, William Uher. She lived most of her life in Chicago, before moving to Newnan to be with family. She had worked briefly with BellSouth, and spent her life caring for her family. She enjoyed working with her hands, crocheting Afghans and making Christmas ornaments. She was baptized and joined St. George's Catholic Church in 1987.

William H. Watson

William H. Watson, 57, Senoia, formerly of Forest Park, died April 22, 2007. Services were at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home chapel with interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Forest Park.

Kenneth R. Peterson

Kenneth R. Peterson, 80, Peachtree City, died April 15, 2007. He was born Feb. 10, 1922 in Worchester, Mass. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy in the Pacific. He was a professor of wood technology for 11 years at the University of Illinois in Champagne, Ill. He was technical director for eight years at The American Hardboard Association. He worked at Georgia Pacific for 17 years in Atlanta, as director of technical services and was director of technical services at Forest Products Research Lab in Madison, Wisc. for five years.

Jack Elder

Jack Elder, 75, Fayetteville, died April 16, 2007. He was born June 25, 1931, son of Willard Berry and Minnie Mae Jones Elder. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jenny Davis Elder, siblings, Mary Lou Farr, Frances Milam Thompson, Jewel Wilson, John Calvin Elder, and Dot Elder, and nieces, Charlene Berey, and Sandra Edmondson. He worked as an educator in the Atlanta city and Douglas County schools for over 35 years. He was the oldest continuous member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, where he was active in youth groups and with the Young At Heart group. He was a charter member of the Fayette County Historical Society and a former member of the board of directors. Services were at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Barron, the Rev. Philip Johnson, and the Rev. William Norris Hodges officiating.

Jason Christopher Lyle

Jason Christopher Lyle, 27, Fayetteville, died April 16, 2007. He was born Sept. 6, 1979 in Fulton County. He was an electrician and personal fitness trainer.
