Johanna Emily Uher, 93, Newnan, died April 20, 2007. She was born July 1, 1913 in Chicago, Ill, daughter of George and Johanna Walsek Dvorak. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Fred Stanley Uher, and a son, William Uher. She lived most of her life in Chicago, before moving to Newnan to be with family. She had worked briefly with BellSouth, and spent her life caring for her family. She enjoyed working with her hands, crocheting Afghans and making Christmas ornaments. She was baptized and joined St. George's Catholic Church in 1987.

Graveside services were at Resurrection Cemetery, Chicago, Ill. Survivors include sons, Robert and Mary Nell Uher, Sharpsburg, and Edward and Sharon Uher, Homer Glen, Ill.; a daughter, Shirley Hein, Sharpsburg; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge of local arrangements.
