William Peter Kurtz, 86, Fayetteville, died May 5, 2007. He was born Feb. 3, 1921 in Cairo, Alexander County, Ill. He had served in the United States Air Force, retiring with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Masons, F&AM. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Greg Morris officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ann E. Kurtz, Fayetteville; a son, Raymond L. and Barbara Phillips, Hawaii; a daughter, Janice and Martin Colon, Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
