James Webster Day, 78, LaGrange, died April 24, 2007. He was born October 29, 1928 in Chambers County, Ala., son of the late Sam and Clara Howell Day. He was preceded in death by a son, Orien Day. He had lived in LaGrange for the past 54 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. He was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Lion's Club. Services were at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Interment was at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jewell Day, LaGrange; a son, Durward Day, LaGrange; a daughter, Ophelia and Gene Mustain, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Monique Warner, Melissa Gordon, Michelle Myers, Michael Mustain, and Josh Mustain; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dawson and Letta Day, Five Points, Ala. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454, Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, was in charge. login to post comments |
