Christopher C. Burnett Jr., 78, Fayetteville, died April 29, 2007. He was born Dec. 7, 1928 in Atlanta and grew up in East Point. He was a graduate of Russell High School in 1946. He had served in the United States Navy and was a licensed pilot. He attended John Marshall Law School and the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. He worked in that field until retiring in the mid-1990s. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hapeville, serving as a deacon, a member of the finance committee and a youth Sunday School teacher. He was a past member of the Airport Area Kiwanis Club, the Georgia Bankers Association, and the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce. Services were at the First Baptist Church of Hapeville with the Rev. Dr. Bill Lacey officiating. Interment was at the Alta Vista Cemetery, Gainesville, Ga. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nan Hill Burnett, Fayetteville; a son, Chris and Karen Burnett, Sandy Springs; a daughter, Lesa Burnett, Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Christopher Burnett, and Greyson Burnett. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayettevile, was in charge. login to post comments |
