James R ."Bob" Smith, 84, Peachtree City, died May 13, 2007. He was born July 28, 1922 in Birmingham, Ala. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army in Europe. He was at the Normandy Invasion. He was a Ham Radio operator whose call sign was KE4BNH. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Chaplain Dan Akin officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marilou Smith, Peachtree City; children, Douglas and Glenda Smith, Benton, Ark., and Julie and Brian Cook, Fayetteville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith, Dallas, Texas. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
