William Angelo Grenga

William Angelo Grenga, 80, Newnan, died July 21,2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Eva Grenga, brothers, James Grenga, John Grenga, and Bobby Grenga, and sisters, Louise Grenga Port, and Dr. Helen E. Grenga. He was captain and quarterback of the Georgia Tech football team and later at West Georgia College. He was inducted into the Coweta Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. In World War II he served as a corporal in the Army Air Corps. He was former deacon at the First Baptist Church of Newnan, and retired in 1981 with 37 years of service with the United States Postal Service. Graveside services were at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan, with the Rev. Jimmy Patterson officiating. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eloise Cash Grenga, Newnan; a son, Steven Bartley Grenga, Newnan; a daughter, Kathy Ann Grenga, Alto, Ga.; and a brother, Kelly Grenga, Newnan. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Newnan, or the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
