chippie: Does anyone receive The Citizen newsletter?

I subscribed to The Citizen.com newsletter a long time ago, and have never received an email with a newsletter. Does this feature really work?

Robert W. Morgan: So, now what? GRTA has spoken.

Robert W. Morgan's picture

Not many choices, but here they are
#1. Go get more land from Pathways, redesign the bridge and road for 4 lanes and build it. Cost $2,000,000 more. Benefit we please GRTA and still get state money - and we make Coweta happy.

I just wanted you all to know how disgusted I was to pick up The Citizen this morning and see the picture and caption on the front page.

TruthinessUberAlles: Bil O'Really

TruthinessUberAlles's picture

Its pretty apperent that Bill O'Really totally wants to/is currently plowing the woman,Tonya Reiman, that he has on every week to read peoples' body language. She's attractive but her smile shows way too much gum, ewww. Personally, I wouldnt touch her with Dick Hobbs' euphemism. Maybe Bill will buy his new girlfriend a falafel.

Concerned Citizen: Barack Obama

Now that he has announced his interest in being a candidate for President, I must say that I am impressed with the plan to use his inexperience as a politician to his advantage. We are told that because he has not been around long enough to learn the ways of Washington, he is somehow a better candidate for President?

johenry: "Stay the course" isn't working Mayor Logsdon

Here we go again! Peachtree City getting slapped over the head over TDK.

“So far the city has paid about $500,000 towards the project including design work, and Mayor Harold Logsdon said the city will not pay any more. Although local governments are allowed to overrule GRTA decisions for projects in their jurisdiction, Peachtree City cannot do that because the requirement stems from the 3,000-home McIntosh Village project planned for Coweta County."

dollaradayandfound: TV interviews: Atlanta

Each day on the local news channels, all of them, they do one or more interviews, in the street, concerning some crime that has happened.

Doug: Over development and your homeowner's association: act now

I found the contact information for the gentleman who is organizing all of the homeowner's associations officers into a large group to speak out on large development projects which are detrimental to our community.

SouthernBelle: Speaking of...

SouthernBelle's picture

You know, I was just reminded of how angry it makes me that because SO MANY people want to "take" the government for every thing they can.

dollaradayandfound: Running for President

It now appears, two years before a new Presiednt takes office, that there might br forty people running for the position.

dollaradayandfound: Gibber-jabber

On so many levels, you know I mean. You know we step up, I mean do our job--on a different level.
You know.
I mean another level, you know? We win when we do our thang, you know, I mean when?

yellowjax1212: Government at its best

yellowjax1212's picture

It seems they got it backwards again.
Build the bridge and then get the EPA report from the DOT?
With 90% of the carts using the bridge being electric, I would guess that the diesel fumes from the trains passing under the bridge and the car exhaust from traffic stopped on the bridge would be more of a hazard to the cart drivers than the other way around.

helpful lawyer: A word about investment seminars with free meals

Once people get close to retirement age, they start receiving invitations to FREE investment seminars with a meal thrown in.

dollaradayandfound: Catch 22

A lot on these comments lately about religion. It is so diverse that we seem to be totally fascinated by it all, rather than converted to a method of worship. Whatever "worship" means. (bands, music, hollerers, people who seem to be dying on the stage, etc.)

Richard Hobbs: BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!

Richard Hobbs's picture

Why are our troops still there?
Why do they have to be over there when the "war" was already won?
These men and women are away from the families and are paying a heavy cost, for what?

Spear Road Guy: PTC: Disappearing With Great Speed

Spear Road Guy's picture

What happens when we let Direct PAC, Bob Lenox and a lying Mayor Logsdon have control of our city?

The four quotes below come out of a single edition of the newspaper. Didn't Logsdon and Steven Boone promise to keep the high quality standards of our community? What happened?

dollaradayandfound: VietNam again?

I think not. However, we are being honked on the nose again by a devious administration trying to get out of a mess by diversion.

mapleleaf: How to get bold or italic characters in your blog entries

mapleleaf's picture

A lot of us have had difficulty learning how to get certain words in bold or italics in our blog items.

The system offered to us by The Citizen Online to get that done is primitive and even barbaric. But as Donald Rumsfeld said, you go to war with the army you’ve got, not the one you wish you had.

Richard Hobbs: Best Movies Recommendations

Richard Hobbs's picture

I thought I'd take our occasional and good hearted debate down a notch or two.

I enjoy movies and wondered what you would recommend as being some of your favorites.

Now even his friends are bailing out of Jimmy's maniacal world view regarding his ignorance over the Middle East.

tedkara: Volunteer Opportunities?

tedkara's picture

I'm looking for some kind of volunteer opportunity that my children & I can participate in. We'd been cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta, but it's so far! I thought there might be a Meals on Wheels program or something similar here in the Fayetteville/PTC area, but I've tried Google & Ask.com & neither had much info.

swmbo: Fayette Board's Mysterious Leader

I posted these same questions at This spot but the eatery chatter moved it off the page before I could get an answer. Since I never got much information about Jack Smith during the campaign, can somebody tell me about the man? Who is he? What's his claim to fame? Why is he the right guy for the Chairmanship of the Board of Commissioners? (and, for Pete's sake, please give me something more valuable than "he wasn't Linda" or "he wasn't Herb." That is largely unpersuasive and doesn't make those who selected him sound very intelligent.)

johenry: A planning commission meeting that will live in infamy

I can’t agree more with the townspeople begging the city council of PTC to hit the brakes on the out of control growth. Anyone who went to Monday’s planning commission meeting would have been traumatized by the development projects on the table for passage!

coke12: Onyxx Restaurant

Personally, I think all of you are jealous because the owner looks better than you and your mammas put together. Instead of shooting one down, we need to try and support them and stop feeding each other with negative gossip. Because you're all speaking on hearsay. I know the owners personally and they are great people. Very nice and professional. So all of you guys need to go out and get your own lives and stop worrying about others.

an accident victim the other day. Could someone please provide me with the police report site, so I can find out who/what/how happened?

Talynndria: Down Town Tyrone

Someone has probably already suggested this, but here it goes anyway. Bring businesses down town, but use the architecture of back in the time when Tyrone was founded.

eodnnaenaj1: Website please

eodnnaenaj1's picture

Please help me remember the website for looking up police reports. Thanks.

dollaradayandfound: Falcons new coach

I could hardly believe my eyeballs when I read in the AJC that a coach had been found for the Falcons who could coach and build the team upon Mike Vick, our whole team, I suppose. $130,000,000 salary makes that a necessity I guess.
