A planning commission meeting that will live in infamy

I can’t agree more with the townspeople begging the city council of PTC to hit the brakes on the out of control growth. Anyone who went to Monday’s planning commission meeting would have been traumatized by the development projects on the table for passage!

The Levitt and Sons and John Wieland neighborhoods proposed for annexation have greater density than the AMLI apartments off of Crabapple Road. What is the city council thinking? This annexation and the horrible TDK road are bringing us right in line with Henry County standards. If you haven’t gone over there lately, go take a look at their clogged roads.

Two big box stores were also introduced and one was for a Lowe’s to go across the street from the Home Depot on Highway 54. People, this is insanity! Steve Brown had to remind the Planning Commission we had a law on the books regarding big boxes. Many of us got up and demanded that they follow the big box law and not weasel around it.

One man stood up and said there is a coalition of homeowners associations being formed to fight the outrageous stuff Mayor Logsdon and his crew are pushing. Count me in and tell us how we can help.

I say:

Let's build more and more, growth is inevitable, lots of Mexicans, Floridians and Northeners moving into the area, more business and houising is needed, more tax $$$.

I say:

a) Make Hwy 154 a 4-lane to I-85

b) Transform Hwy 74 into a freeway all the way to PTC, let's call it I-385 or name it "Harold Logsdon Freeway"

c) Bring the GRTA buses to PTC. Let's have 2 routes: PTC-Atlanta downtown and PTC-airport (MARTA)

d) Light rail from Atlanta down town all the way south to Senoia

Civilization, yeah! If you don't like it, move to southwest Georgia (Sylvester or Ty Ty).

Tyrone and PTC, the newest Atlanta suburbs, yeah!

Wouldn't you be more comfortable in say new jersey or los angeles?....You know lots of crime, garbage, raw sewage, and people stacked ontop of each other in traffic.

Here's a little tip for you,......I don't know if I should let this out or not..... Hmmm only a few people on here tonight....so.....if you promise not to tell I'll let you in on something.....

I have been told by a very confidential source, that LA, has not 1 but 2 living trees somewhere in the city limits....and this is the outrageous part..... a live bird was seen in one of them. Doesn't that just make you want to go out and destroy all of that nature?

This same source told me,....in confidence that a bird was seen alive on an abondoned warehouse,...and the homeless people were feeding it....of all the nerve. Just because they are homeless, they think they can do whatever they want. Can you believe that?

Now there is something for you to destroy.....get busy.....LA and new jersey, are cities that are harboring and protecting nature...go forth and inflict yourself on those shameless treehuggers.

Be strong you know the devil is with you.

This group is intended to get representatives from every HOA within the City in its organization. The Government body within PTC must realize quickly that the citizens have had enough development. We do not want the West Village Annexation project. We do not want the TDK project. We do not want the Big Boxes.

Perhaps, this November when two Council Members are voted out (Judi-Ann and Stuart) the remaining members will get the picture. Every time I go to one of these meetings it’s the same story from the developers. "We will donate land to the city" or we will "swap land" or we will "give the City 2 Million dollars" for the particular piece of parcel in exchange for.... and it goes on-and-on.

The newly formed CAPP (Community Association Presidents of Peachtree City) organization is going to become a very loud and powerful organization within this City.

Would someone let me know who the person was that indicated that a new home owner's alliance was being formed. I'm sure that the Tyrone Neighborhood Alliance would be more than happy to join this group. What happens in PTC migrates to Tyrone.
