General Casey, the ground commander in Iraq, told the senate yesterday that there are about 100,000 civilian contractors in Iraq helping run the war. This was a quantity that he admitted to when asked. He did say only about 20,000 of those were really into the war and the rest were doing "logistics."

The slow demise of the national Republican Party just took a turn for the worse. Hard to believe that the GOP’s prospects could actually become more bleak after two years of unrelenting bad news, but it has.

There was a huge turnout to protect the Pathways Project in Sharpsburg! The local residents are very much opposed to the annexation. Those who spoke up at Sburg Town Council meetings were always ignored and the Town carried on with their plans. Nothing that the residents have said has been considered. Not only that, the Coweta County residents living around the proposed annexation are just as opposed to the Pathways Project as we, the residents, are.

It looks like Lawrenceville has their own version of the "tennis center" fraud going on. The similarities are frightening. Good old boys playing with numbers behind closed doors. New mayor steps in and finds hanky panky going on. Good old boys say they would never do anything wrong. Taxpayers get stuck with the bill.

Git Real Is Dangerous

Ok...Git real is dangerous. Let us count the ways.

1. The MOB (Mount Olive Baptist) Church wears "White Face" and offends whites...no problem. Git Real wears "Black Face" and offends blacks.... Git Real Is Dangerous.

I think this was done intentionally, to offend people. What do the rest of you think?

This is really just a vicious cycle, the hate seems to be never ending. Blacks still hate white people after 40yrs. When will blacks let the healing begin? Why do they go out of their way to be offensive? Are they trying to drive us off like they did the white people in Clayton crime county?

On Friday, January 19, Mrs. Terry’s and Mrs. Williams' kindergarten class at Tyrone Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school with several activities.

I wanted to post something pleasant: have you noticed the property located on S. Jeff Davis Drive, behind the Flash Foods and across from Mowell Funeral Home? The lot has been cleaned out and a walking path has been laid down around a huge tree.

The handling of this war in Iraq by the administration and its generals reminds me of P.T. Barnum and his side shows. Barnum mademoney by allowing customers into a tent for a dime to show them some great thing, only to announce once they saw something insignificant, that further great things were available just into the next tent for another dime. This went on until people were antsy. This went on for several tents until finally it would be announced that if everyone would file to the left where the large sign was displayed they would be happy. The large sign read: "See The Great Egress, No Charge." Upon going through that last tent flap they found themselves outside near the stock pens.

I left because I needed to, not because I wanted.
I stayed away for reasons that were really quite unwarranted.
I miss the place, I miss the people, I miss everything about it.

I was just reading the City Council minutes from the recent meeting when the TDK right-of-way was accepted under shady circumstances. Mr. Kourajian stated (as recorded in the minutes) that "if Pathway wanted to hold a gun to the City's head in order to get the right-of-way it was their prerogative, he (Kourajian) was not prepared to make a decision on an 11th hour conundrum."

Do parents teach their children manners anymore? Actually, do parents OF children even use manners themselves?

Nearly every time I go out to eat, I end up sitting next to some kid eating and smacking with their mouth wide open. It's loud smacking and 'able to see the food in their mouths' wide open. The parents don't even notice it! Some of the parents are smacking right along with them! Hello????? Hasn't this always been an obvious and always regarded bad manner? Why haven't these parents (of teenage boys especially) taught and enforced any semblance of decorum? Is it not important anymore? Is it because they have no manners themselves? Is it because they are some of the many yankee transplants and don't have the same regard for this sort of etiquette? (Sorry, yankees, but those of you that I've encountered are, for the most part, quite rude.)
