dollaradayandfound: The GOATSWhen Abu Ghraib prison torture by us hit the news, a one star, female, military police commanding General was relieved of that command. No one higher. Jones: Big promise, little truth on LogsdonA lot of the voters saw Harold Logsdon as a common sense, back to basics person who was a man of his word and had the best interests of the community at heart. Reality has painted a much different picture of the mayor and a lot of us are beginning to notice. dollaradayandfound: DitzoIn California (of course) apparently a woman drove her car under a tractor trailer from the side and got lodged, lengthwise, between two sets of the trailers dual tires. Her tires were on the road and she just was sped along for some distance before the truck driver noticed her. cowtipn: The Citizen's PotentialHey Cal, dollaradayandfound: Long debates on middle-eastWe have two individuals on here providing long pieces about how to handle the situation in Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia (oops, we don't mess with that dictatorship, do we). bladderq: Food jointsSomething near & dear to my heart. I went to the 'ville today. Looked like Onyxx was doing a pretty good lunch biz @ 1:30. I see the Old Mill had a 'Gone Fish'n" sign up. What's up w/ that? Buckhead Brewery has an "Under Contract" out. AF A-10: Why Troop Surge in Iraq is Destined to Fail:If "success" in Iraq is measured by the end of sectarian violence and a stable, central Iraqi government, the introduction of 20,000 plus additional US combat troops into Baghdad has virtually no chance of achieving success. Many surge supporters and Iraqi occupation proponents reference WWII, Vietnam, and even Korea as examples of military perseverence obtaining national goals. Many are trying to re fight Vietnam, and "win" this time. But there are stark contrasts to where we have been in the past, and where we are today, that make military perseverence an ineffective tool in solving the current Iraqi problem. Basmati: PTC Rep. Dan Lakly to female lawyer: "You Sir, are a MORAN!"Peachtree City representative Dan Lakly made the political blogs over at Atlanta Magazine for his petulant behavior. Little Dan had himself a "Westmoreland moment" when he responded to a female lawyer's request for clemency with the pithy reply "Get a life!....You Sir, are a MORAN!" Keebler: GreatThank you to the Planning and Zoning Commission for listening to the Wonderful Resident turnout. Only hope the Mayor an TonyF: Where there's smoke....Did anyone besides me see the large, billowing cloud of smoke from the Mcdonough area around 1pm Friday? I've asked some of my coworkers and checked the news but noone seems to know anything about it. tr: black owned biz fails 93% of timethis type of activity is the reason the FTC says that black owned biz fails and has the highest rate of adverse credit ratings of ALL minority biz owners. Concerned Citizen: Fayette County Public Safety IssuesIt it widely known that the public safety employees of Fayette County are respected by the citizens of this county (with the exception of Bladderq and Dollaraday). There is an issue that should be appearing on the radar of the County Commission in the coming months that will require the support of the community. The issue of a pension has been settled in Peachtree City and Fayetteville (they have a pension AND a 457) but Fayette County has not followed suit yet. A pension type of retirement is needed to not only retain the great employees we have now but will help attract well qualified people for the jobs we need to have filled. outofthere: Demographics moves onI have said before and say again there is a black belt forming from south Atlanta to Columbus . They are destroying Southern customs and traditions as surely as Gen U.S. Grant. dollaradayandfound: Interesting stuffThe preacher's wife in a small town in rural Tennessee who shot her husband to death with a shotgun in their bedroom it seems was driven crazy (temporarily) by her preacher husband criticizing her all the time for only having three babies instead of five by now, plus money problems. JoAnn: I think I just got "scammed"I am entering my daughter in to the "Miss Pride of Fayette County" pageant to be held March 10th. I went to a dress shop downtown Fayetteville. You know which one - with the dresses in the window. I did purchase a dress (In which I know I was OVER Charged - I looked the same dress up on the Internet and the manufacturer is less expensive - my mistake) Needless to say I was the one to purchase it. I ordered other accessories, I was told one price - charged another. I did not purchase the accessories. oldbeachbear: WHO is really building the upscale homes here?I was told, this week someone went into one of the more expensive houses being built in Tyrone, only to find nothing there but Mexican labor. AF A-10: How was political debate handled during military conflict in the mid 90s?Conservatives quoted during the war in Bosnia (which had no American combat fatalities) "Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is." PTCGA1: Ever want to see a $2 billion bridge? There is one proposed across Line Creek. The Peachtree City Council smoke generators are going full blast on TDK through a spurious lawsuit against the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA). The ultimate purpose of the huge smoke screen is to ensure that a TDK bridge and highway get built so that Coweta County developers (and many associated business interests) can unlock thousands of acres of rural land (now used for agricultural and hunting purposes) and build at least 2 new large communities and 1 new city with a combined total value close to a staggering $2 billion!! bad_ptc: Dead Men Walking, Article in Discover Mag.gsbattery: Time for some soul searchingEveryone seems to be crying, yelling and talking about the same thing. The dollaradayandfound: Evening News: Funny Judge in FLA former cab driver in the Bronx, NY, is somehow a judge in Florida. KATCHAYA: hunter shooting deer chasing dogwhat is wrong with you people?? why are you blaming the hunter?? where is the dog owner's responsibility to keep his pet safe and restrained on his own property? Carol Biederman: from carol to salliedollaradayandfound: Cable TV : Network TVI thoroughly enjoy watching the summation of the important news of the day for one-half hour each day either on NBC, CBS, or ABC. One can see how the war is going and how many more killed and wounded, a two minute blurb on Anna Nicole. or the scandal of the week, an investigation into either corporate or political crooks for a few minutes, and what our government has done for the day. Iyalosha Oba Anya: Santeria/Lukumi Not The Same as VoudounI greet you in the name of my Ancestors and the Orisa. I am a Lukumi Priestess, misnomered as "Santeria". There are liturgical, thesophical, and cultural differences in the Religion known variously as Orisa, Yoruba, Lukumi and "Santeria" and the religion known as Voudoun. dollaradayandfound: Walter Reed Military HospitalSo many war wounded badly now that Walter Reed wouldn't hold the ones with no legs, arms, etc., so an old motel was contracted for to put some of them in. It wasn't being used and was infiltrated with rats, roaches, and mold. It was minimally staffed and had few pieces of equipment, so some wounded had to make their way around numerous buildings and streets to go for treatment, walking. FL410: Bad JudgeAnother "S P" Judge. I hope O'Reilly hears about this and blasts the Judicial System here in Fayette County. This judge Jennifer Emick: Voodoo vs. Santeria/LukumiSanteria and Voodoo/Vodoun are seperate religions. While similar in some ways to Voodoo, Santeria is NOT a "voodoo religion" or a branch of the same faith. dollaradayandfound: Scattered: whyVice President Cheney is in Japan. Secretary Rice is in Israel/Palestine. Congress took another week off. dollaradayandfound: A scheduling questionA restaurant that has reservations has an electrical problem for an hour causing everyone who had reservations for that hour to have to wait. |
