Santeria/Lukumi Not The Same as VoudounI greet you in the name of my Ancestors and the Orisa. I am a Lukumi Priestess, misnomered as "Santeria". There are liturgical, thesophical, and cultural differences in the Religion known variously as Orisa, Yoruba, Lukumi and "Santeria" and the religion known as Voudoun. You have erroneously grouped multiple religions together. It is an afront to the members of the Orisa/Yoruba/Lukumi/Santeria and, separately, Voudoun community to imply that we would use our religion and its' practices, designed to bring balance into our lives and into the world, in this manner. It makes me wonder why you don't also report how many Bibles and Torahs you find at the crime scenes where Christians, Jews, et al, are the perpetrators---which clearly are the vast majority... What is your point? If you don't know, ask somebody....we are here and available. I leave you with Alafia....Peace Iyalosha Oba Anya's blog | login to post comments |
