Demographics moves on

I have said before and say again there is a black belt forming from south Atlanta to Columbus . They are destroying Southern customs and traditions as surely as Gen U.S. Grant.
There is hope however. These destroyers will pass and eventually hope and renewal will appear. Schools, homes, and communities will be retaken, rebuilt, and quality of life and safety will be restored.

to ignore the influx of a group of people that adhere to an extremely negative culture is plain ignorant. I understand what the original poster is speaking of, they just worded it wrong.

The south side of Atlanta contains a sub-group of Black folks who seem to think the same and act the same. Certainly, not all Black folks on the Southside fall under this group. This group seems unique to the south, Atlanta especially. They wear the same clothes (go check out Six Flags during the summer, it seems like they adhere to a strict dress code) and politely play their music so loud that I can hear it inside my car with the windows rolled up. When you deliver a pizza to them, they do not tip. When you serve food to them at a restaurant, they do not tip. Your job as a manager becomes harder because you constantly have people trying to slime their way out of paying for things.

DO NOT GET ME WRONG. I am not referring to Black people. I am referring to a segment of Black folks who live the ghetto culture. This culture is not prevalent in other areas of the world. Unfortunately, Atlanta seems to be the capital of such culture. Think I am wrong? Listen to the rap that plays on the radio, listen to the type of lifestyle they promote. The lyrics to virtually all mainstream rap songs are HORRENDOUS. Now, listen to see what city the majority of these "artists" claim as home. Oh no, its the dirty south, aka southside ATLanta.

I am damn sick of people giving this so called ghetto culture a pass. People shiver in their boots when they speak about anything that has to do with a Black person. That is why this culture survives and grows. The negative change that is occurring in the Southside of Atlanta is not a racial change, IT IS A CULTURAL CHANGE.

Anyone should feel free to criticize any culture because culture is a choice. And the culture that prevails in South Fulton and Clayton is dangerous and should be criticized.

And the REASON I'm laughing is because here in PTC, the boys walking around with the boxers showing? The ones blasting their "gansta" music? They are white kids. Go figure. The last several homicides in the county? What color have the dangerous perps been? The local neighborhood pedophiles? What demographic group is that predominately?

Tiki, did you mean you are referring to "people" living the ghetto culture, acknowledging the FACT that Eminem is not alone? Did you know caucasions purchase more Rap than black kids? Go figure. Paul Wall, Eminem, Bubba Sparxxx, Lincoln Park....... Hmmmm. Time for more "fair and balanced" research. Oh, and is the spray paint cleaning up well in that North Fayette neighborhood?

You know that you're in for a reaaalll Strom Thurman type of treat. This is not in the least bit offensive or threatening; honestly. I found it 100% pure crack pipe comedy. Let this be a lesson to us all: Lock up the computer when dad polishes off a bottle of Jack Daniels in one sitting.

ps: let's hope we keep some of those "southern traditions" dead (Jerry Lee Lewis cousin wives at 13yrs of age, sleeping with the slaves (Thurmon), owning slaves, not readin or ritin to gud, etc.)

Amen! and AMEN! I am proud to be southern born and bred except when I hear racist cracker drivel like this. I won't begrudge any law-abiding person the right to live wherever they choose. Maybe some of the undesirables will push the militant racists back to the woods and swamps from which they sprang.

True.... True..
Of course, if you don't remember, that meant nothing to you. I have been in the south most of my life, and I love it. Biloxi,Mississippi, Wichita Falls, Tx, Dallas, and North Cacalack b4 coming here to GA. I have learned to laugh at, I mean with those who feel a black face is to blame for their lack of a fulfilling job, marraige, life, etc. People like you keep my faith in America strong!

How sad - that 'outofhere' doesn't realize how ignorant this sounds. I'm just pleased that I know so many residents of Fayetteville who are not fearful of the demographics of the South. Not many people choose to live near poor and/or uneducated persons if they can help it - regardless of color. Parts of Canada have an interesting strategy - where neighborhoods include homes at all price levels - and everyone living in a neighborhood seems to have pride of ownership in their property regardless of their income or educational level.
