100th Day of School Celebration

On Friday, January 19, Mrs. Terry’s and Mrs. Williams' kindergarten class at Tyrone Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school with several activities.

The youngsters started the morning with a "100 Day" breakfast, which consisted of a sausage link to represent the number one and two mini pancakes to represent the zeros!! The students also had a contest to see which three-person group could put a 100 piece puzzle together first and they jumped for 100 seconds!

Each student brought in a project from home to show 100 items of their choosing. Two examples were a windchime made of nuts and bolts and a root beer float made from Werther’s candy and marshmallows. There were also posters made from heart stickers, pennies, Q-Tips, and candy!

Most notably, the students collected one hundred canned goods to see just how much 100 really is, counting them by 5s, 10s and then 20s to get to 100. At the conclusion of the 100th day of school, the canned goods were donated to a local charity. Now that's making the most out of the 100th day of school!
