Diamondgirl: FMS and FCHS athletic programs

Totally agree with the comments made regarding the lack of continuity between FMS and FCHS programs compared to the other schools in the county.

odoylerules: parade at night

Recently heard about a parade in Tyrone at night.

I thought it was a joke at first and was waiting for the punchline.

Basmati: Wondering about those Air Force A-10 Pilots?

Basmati's picture

I've always wondered how Air Force pilots get their unique callsigns? Do they get to pick their own callsigns or are the names hoisted upon them? Are they always unique? And if not, whaddya do when you have two pilots in the air with the same callsign?

Could someone provide the name of a good, reliable and reasonable handyman? I need some work done on my baseboards, porch and in need of new front steps.

Richard Hobbs: Jimmy's sending out invitations to his funeral

Richard Hobbs's picture

I was watching the news over the weekend and saw how Jimmy Carter is trying desperately to get people to come to his funeral. I thought about how sad it is that a man as bright as he was, could have squandered so much of his life looking for power and accolades. He says he wants to be buried in Plains, even though he says he could be buried anywhere. Well, why not in Europe? or In Venezula. Or some other third world country where the dictatorship has be enamored by his socialistic rhetoric?

Michael Boylan: The Christmas show at Legacy Theatre

Michael Boylan's picture

I took in "A Christmas Survival Guide" at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone yesterday and thought I'd post my thoughts.

The theatre itself is amazing, as is the fact that they got it all done in time to open the day after Thanksgiving. It is beautifuly decorated inside and the theatre (seats, stage, etc.) are first class. There's not a bad seat in the house and the seats are all comfortable.

Emmyjune: Loco's in Fayetteville

Emmyjune's picture

Has anyone else noticed that Loco's has closed it's doors? I heard rumor of it on Friday afternoon while dining at another restaurant in Fayetteville.

Proud2BWcat: Rumsfeld letter to Bush

Have you read the excerpts of Rumsfeld’s memo to President Bush? I believe he has some valid points; with the situation in Iraq not getting any better, is this not worth looking into?

I put together a reply regarding McDonoughDawg's comments. My comments appear in bold below his.

people4u: Koran replaces the Bible!

When I first read this, I was stunned! Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota was recently elected to the U.S. congress. Keith is a Muslim and has said that he will not take the oath of office on a Bible but will do so on a Koran. What is the county coming? This is the same state that elected Jesse Ventura as a Governor, not surprised.

dollaradayandfound: Everybody is faking it

Morgan and Brown don't exist. Tennis Center settled months ago--we didn't know! Suddenly we have another development authority instead of a tourism association, don't we? I'm confused. Where are the tourists?

Spear Road Guy's picture

Oh my, Bob W. Morgan was congratulated for being upstanding and honestly attaching his name to his posts. LOL! Please "just say NO." You smoke too much of that stuff and you can't think straight. Stuff like that will ruin your lunch hour!

Mister Epps,

In regards to your calling us anonymous blogger cowards I submit to you that you truly need to Git Real. Your praise of Robert W. Morgans courage in using his name is truly laughable.

Robert W. Morgan: Question for Cal

Robert W. Morgan's picture

How does Steve Brown manage to write a letter to the editor (actually many letters) that address recent news items that appear on the front page of the same issue of the paper? Most of us read the news when it is published - Wednesday in the paper or Tuesday night on the website and we make our comments then. Brown, on the other hand has his comments printed in the very same paper that contains the news.

AMDG: Conservatives more charitable than Liberals

A new book coming out will describe how conservatives contribute more than liberals to charity and charitable causes. This, in spite of the fact that liberals make more money on average than conservatives.

dollaradayandfound: Falcons, Atlanta and Fulton police

Any football team that can't get enough touchdowns to beat the other team, loses! A couple of dropped passes or missed tackles, usually happens in most games. They are not usually the reason you lose. Anyway I can't ever imagine Brett Favre fingering toward the crowd after losing. He also throws the ball quite often to a spot where there is no one, but someone usually shows up there at the right time to catch it. All the prancing and dancing and waiting for full clearance makes for a ball thrown too straight and hard. The Falcons have Bravesitis: too much money into one or two players, too little into many others. If the taxi squad is pitiful, then injuries do play a role.

Jones: Development Authority Scandal: Bailout begins Wednesday night
