Landmark Christian School Parents

I want to be as charitable as possible in saying what I am going to say, but I feel this is a very important matter. I need to pass in front of Landmark Christian School every morning on my way to work. Unfortunately there are parents leaving the school who do not take into consideration the STOP sign they are supposed to observe. I have needed to screech to a halt on various occasions on Robinson Road to let a speeding car pull out of the school. I know that there is a slight incline at the stop sign, but many cars take the stop sign with 1/2 their vehicule sticking out halfway on Robinson, causing cars to have to go veer slightly onto the lane going the opposite way. This is something I can't understand - you have just dropped off your most precious possession - your children, and then put yourself and others in harm's way. Years ago, I used to lived near a school where the situation was quite similar. Unfortunely, it took a horrible tragedy to stop the parents from driving carelessly. Please, even if you're late to work or for an appointment, nothing is worth causing an accident which will result in God knows what.

As a Landmark Christian School parent, thank you for posting your comment. I will copy it and email your comment to our school's headmaster with a recommendation for him to pass along this safety warning to the other parents. I do request you send your comment to the editor in the form of a letter. It may help get the warning out to others.

I do not necessarily agree that it takes a village to raise a child, but it certainly helps. Thank you again.

Ditto to what gelato says. Been there, seen it. Surprised that I haven't heard of any major injuries there.

Had the same situation happen to me a couple of months ago going south on Robinson. Woman in burgundy mini-van shot out of driveway right in front of me. Fortunately I hit the brakes in time. I don't think she ever looked in my direction. Hope not because if she did, and still pulled out, she's a much bigger idiot than I imagined. This was around 6:00PM and I didn't notice any kids in van. Before the question is asked, I was going the speed limit. Never had a ticket, and not interested in starting at this stage of my life.

Woodward bus

Along the same train of thought here:
TWO different afternoons I've seen the Woodward Academy school bus - which is apparently brand new and very sporty looking - run the red light while turning left from Robinson Road on to Hwy 54 West in PTC while I was waiting at this light.
