Volunteer Opportunities?

tedkara's picture

I'm looking for some kind of volunteer opportunity that my children & I can participate in. We'd been cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta, but it's so far! I thought there might be a Meals on Wheels program or something similar here in the Fayetteville/PTC area, but I've tried Google & Ask.com & neither had much info. You can email me at Peacheekeen@bellsouth.net with ideas. Thanks in advance!

would love to have you come in to read to a class, read to an individual student or have them read to you on a regular basis, help with Accelerated Reader programs, or mentor to children who are having difficulties. My experience in all of these areas was very rewarding and words can't describe seeing the pride of a first grader who finally completed a favorite book with no assistance!

Make a phone call to any elementary school to get more information.

The Citizen regularly runs a list of volunteer opportunities in our area. So I would suggest starting with the paper version of The Citizen (as I cannot fined the listing here on the website).
