Allince for Summer Theatre ready to cut loose, 'Footloose'

popular film in the 1980s and its soundtrack is still considered to
be one of the best of all time. The next logical step was to bring the

a Broadway musical. Now, it is being performed by Clayton Alliance for
Summer Theater and several Fayette County teens will help bring the
show to life.

LETTERS TO THE
EDITOR
Tyrone's
Cannon makes disagreements personal
I would like to
answer your questions and discuss them but first let's get something
cleared up. I didn't say that your previous letter was a personal attack
on me. I said that, when someone disagrees with you, you put a personal
slant on it. I asked if this was necessary. What makes me say this?
'Pappy'
says thanks for 'life-altering experience'
Words seem so inadequate
to express my appreciation to all those who supported me during the
"Survivor: Marquesas" season on CBS.
Wheat
campaign unveils weekly 'attack-o-meter'
Each week through
the primary election on Aug. 20, the Mike Wheat campaign will be sending
"an issue of the week" to the press and stating our position
on that issue. We want to inform the voters on our positions, and to
motivate our opponent to shift his efforts away from simply attacking
Mike to actually stating his positions on these important issues. To
that end, we will publish an "attack-o-meter" count each week
of letters by his opponent that attack Mike rather than address issues.
We
citizens of Fayette may not vote in the numbers that perhaps we should,
but let no political office seeker assume that we are so unconcerned
about our county politics that we never verify the campaign claims now
filling our mailboxes.
Wheat

I've been involved

there is no perfect candidate and only a few depraved.
Chambliss
is only candidate to have visited in Fayette
While we are all
turning our attention to the local county commission race, please don't
forget that we will also be deciding who will represent us in the United
States Senate. The person sent to Washington as Georgia's senator will,
in all likelihood, decide who controls the Senate. This seat is of incredible
importance.
Chambliss

The Saxby Chambliss
for U.S. Senate is the most important race for Georgia and America for
the following reasons:
Brown
right to be worried about Coweta development
Mayor Steve Brown
has just cause to "worry" the Coweta [County] officials will
allow rampant development if the proposed [TDK Boulevard] connector
is built. Without written safeguards from all parties involved, I'll
bet my pension Brown's worst fears will be realized.
What
happened to mayor's promises of open government?
I'm a little confused.
During last year's mayoral campaign in Peachtree City, Steve Brown used
"open and honest government" as a cornerstone of his campaign.
Now we find out that he held private conversations with three of four
City Council members regarding the hiring of a special investigator
to investigate the contract between the city and the Development Authority
prior to any proposal or public discussion. The one council member left
out of the conversations was Councilwoman Annie McMenamin.

Spanking

I read Jill Lech's

her experience at the hands of allegedly abusive parents affected her
judgment.
Society

When I was growing

didn't end with the possibility of going to jail.
